I’m thankful for the rain we are having today. My rose bushes are starting to bloom, and looks like my crepe myrtle survived the negative temperatures. Thankful my husband will be home the next few weeks instead of working out of town. Always thankful for my beautiful little girls. ❤️

I’m thankful to celebrate my Daughter and Son in law’s one year anniversary this weekend. Last year Covid canceled the wedding that was planned but they went forward in their living room over Zoom. The bridal shop closed with her dress in the middle of alterations. It was a big mess but we made the best of it.

This weekend we are having the reception, wedding cake, photographer, and her wedding dress.

I’m so thankful for my wife, our life together. I’m thankful for the cool little things that she does to make out house a home.

I’m thankful I’m starting to find a little joy in my work again. I got some code working today that had been bedeviling me for a while.

I am thankful that my neighbor's contractors accidentally cut a power line on Tuesday (not causing any fire, thank goodness). Leaving me with no electricity and no internet and therefore a few hours of unexpected time off of work during a sunny, 70 degree day. I put those hours to good use gardening. The first time I'd been able to spend any time outside in the yard so far this season.

And I am thankful for good marriage counseling. WH and I just ended marriage counseling after two years and two months - starting first weekly and eventually moving down to just once a month for the past six or so months. There are so many stories of bad marriage counselors here, but I feel like our MC certainly saved my marriage and possibly also saved my life. I realistically don't know how my story progresses if we hadn't lucked into such a good counselor. I am so thankful for him and also thankful to have graduated from counseling!

I’m thankful for a great week of quality family time. Business is booming and our Son had a successful sleep study, we will be getting some answers from the results soon.

I am thankful for every day that I get to wake up next to my wife.

I am thankful that I can be the type of husband/father my family deserves. I know I wasn’t for a very long time.

I am also thankful for today. It’s a beautiful day with not a cloud or raindrop to be seen.

First time making a stop at Thankful Thursday!

Today I’m thankful that I was able to go morel mushroom hunting with my 83 year old dad. We found a nice load of mushrooms, but the best part is having him here, able to share our love of the outdoors together.

I hope this qualifies as appropriate for this topic!

Absolutely!!! Enjoy every minute you have with your Dad.

I’m thankful for a great week with my family. Spent some time with my mom (lost my dad last year). She gave me his wedding ring and it’s one of the most precious gifts I’ve ever received. My wedding ring doesn’t fit anymore, so yes I’m wearing it.

It is THANKFUL THURSDAY !!! I am very THANKFUL today to read TWO positive posts about R !!! Neither one is put in the "Positive Reconciliation Stories" thread...yet...but I am sure they will realize how MUCH their stories could mean to people reading in that thread . I have HOPE that those posts will end up in that thread!!!

I am also very thankful that my H took off of work on Tuesday...the day that A season started...and spent the WHOLE day with me...letting me know how thankful HE is to have me in his life . He also made plans...that fell through ...but like God always does...He made sure our alternative plans were just as FUN if not BETTER !!!

A bit of sadness this week as it was the anniversary of someone’s passing. Someone I didn’t know for very long but they touched my heart nonetheless.

I am thankful they were in my life and I got to see them when they were healthy. It makes me grateful for the people in my life because I know all to well how quickly things can change.

I’m thankful for the kind of children I have-

We had a hummingbird trapped in the house yesterday, left for the afternoon to give it time to escape. Came back around dinner to find it stunned on the floor. DD (10) was absolutely grief-stricken. As I carefully tried to get it outside she calmed down. She kept vigil all night next to it.

DS (13) voluntarily stayed with her outside all night because she is touch and go with the dark.

XBW and I have done a remarkable job raising remarkable kids.

Today, I noticed my Lily's of the Valley in full bloom.

These are important flowers to me. I discovered them 2 years ago. After DDays - and things were going good between WH and I.

We've lived in our home 20 years. We'd never planted them. In previous years an overgrown bush was in that spot and we'd just dug them up. I have no idea were these beautiful little flowers came from. But they were beautiful and gave me hope.

Being the curious sort - I looked them up and was shocked by their meaning.

They can mean either happiness, luck, prosperity, tears/sorrow, serenity, hope, kindness, humility and even courtship.

To me, they symbolized the story of how the LTA affected our marriage and the rebirth of a new one.

I love these flowers and was thankful to not only see their blooms in the sun, but just how much they have multiplied in the past 2 years.

To me these little blooms are a sign of good things to come.

I'm thankful I noticed them today.

Every school day my WH puts a note in our eldest child’s lunch box, always loving and funny. My eldest loves those notes. Today I’m thankful that my WH and I could meet across the divide he created, fight back from separation and near divorce and repair our marriage and family, so that my eldest gets those notes from a dad who he can be proud, of a dad who fought his demons for himself and for his family.

I’m truly thankful for that.

Chaos, I love Lily of the Valley. They remind me of my mother. She would always grow them and try to give me plants to sow. They didn't grow in my last climate, but I'm hopeful they will grow here.

I'm thankful my son registered for an online orientation and class registration slot for college next year. He did it on Mother's Day, and I consider it my gift. My son was accepted to attend last year at a great school in Computer Science and Maths but decided to defer due to the pandemic.

He's been having existential dread for a few years. The pandemic made it worse. There was a question on his online forms that asked, "What is your career goal?" He replied: "To be comfortable financially and have a job I don't hate going to every day." I think he somehow managed to honestly describe the career goal of 90% of the working class.
