Im feeling down like I am the worlds most boring person.

Name something interesting you have done.

Extra points if I can do it (ie, a move to Sweden is interesting but not doable for me. Helicopter ride over the city is )

I will go first: for years I have wanted to ride in a hot air balloon. I am scared of heights but really wanted to do it! Last month I went on my first hot air balloon ride

Rented a bike and rode down a mountain trail, a super popular touristy one but we went at the very end of the season so it wasn't too crowded.

I realize this is not SUPER interesting but it's something I wanted to do for years and really enjoyed it and want to go back.

An experience I will never forget.

I've done a lot and traveled to many wonderful places. Before covid, I was getting very good at yoga, stronger and a big reduction in my chronic pain.

But my greatest accomplishment is my two sons. I was pretty much a single parent as my SAfWH pursued his hobbies, was the Disney dad while I handled all the rest of life. They are funny, self confident and kind. My only wish for them while they were growing up was that they became happy, healthy adults who positively impacted the world and society.

I rocked it! And GGT, so are you...

I went on a motorized hangglider once - so much fun!!!

I'm taking a few classes that might lead to a masters degree.

WH and I started taking ballroom dance lessons and I am in love - there is almost nothing I would rather do.

I tried learning Polish for a while - very hard language but interesting and challenging. I'd love to try picking it up again when I have more time.

WH and I are trying to hit up as many of the National Parks as possible. Which is also super fun and interesting. They are always beautiful or educational - or both! I find that that National Historical Parks or Landmarks (e.g Chaco Culture National Historical Park or Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument) are often the best - they are just like smaller versions of the larger National Parks (Yosemite, Acadia, etc.) but way less crowded!

Catwoman I am currently doing obedience and agility training with my 8 month old lab. She loves it and it makes me so happy to see her little intent face looking up at me waiting for what I want her to do. How long did it take you? We are shooting for 2023. She can’t compete until she is 18 months anyway.

What a COOL post...thanks for doing this !!!

I think I have a trophy somewhere for being the most boring person !!

My H traveled a lot for work and I followed him wherever he went. I started looking online for quick things to do in or near the cities where we stayed. It is amazing how MUCH there is to see .

NOW...everywhere we go...I always look up "interesting things to see in..." for whatever place we are. We make up a map and try our best to see all of these places .

It is surprising how many of us actually don't go and look at these interesting things in OUR area! We were in Chicago once...and HAD to go to the Willis Tower...which was formerly the Sears Tower. When we talked to the locals about the glass ledge on the tower...they hadn't been on it . They remembered going to the tower on field trips when they were younger...but had no interest in going on it as adults .

That reminded us that even though we have lived IN New Orleans...we never TOURED New Orleans. We remedied that quickly when we came back home .

A "perfect marriage" is just two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other.

With God ALL things are possible (Matthew 19:26)

I AM happy again...It CAN happen!!!

I read mysteries, especially historical mysteries, and historical fiction. I used to read a lot of history and politics. Reading is easy to do. Alas, I don't know many people who like to read what i do, so I don't get a lot of conversation out of the books I read, but I get a lot of enjoyment (if only because I stop reading if I think a book is crap).

I used to listen to a lot of recorded orchestral music. I don't because of hearing loss, but I attend bluegrass concerts when they're given within traveling range. It's likely that live music is available close to you.

I'm pretty boring, myself, but reading and music put a LOT of fun into my life. BTW, I don't buy books any more; I use my local public libraries.

Do you have the freedom necessary to, say, travel for 6 months overseas? You can possibly support yourself teaching English. I worked an studied overseas, but that's hard to do on your own.

I’m afraid of heights, but when my H was competing in the Paralympics in Australia, I climbed the harbor Bridge at 10:30 pm.

I also - at a Tony Robbins event - did first a 12 foot then a 40 foot firewalk! Amazing!

I've done a couple of high ropes courses, rappelled down cliffs, gone through military officer training school, learned and done electrical, plumbing, and remodeling work, survived the big "I", etc. etc.... You can ALWAYS learn how to do do something new! Learn a new language, new skill, new recipe, whatever. Never stop learning and you'll never feel boring 'cause you'll know you're not. With the internet, YouTube and so forth, the world's your oyster!

Sisoon, readinsg to me is one of life's greatest pleasures. Since I've been home-bound, I've been reading more and I mean real books with pages to turn and use bookmarks. I can get 'lost' with a good book.

Wow, we have some interesting and accomplished members here with amazing experiences to their credit giving you ideas, Gotta. I love this!

I have also traveled quite a bit and agree about the wonderful National Parks and Monuments we have. I have visited quite a few of them in many states and even volunteered there. Also visited several countries on this continent as well as three others. I also always look for interesting places and things to see and experience when I travel that may not always be in the guidebooks or tours. The internet helps make it easier and possible.

I took part in two drug trials that proved the efficacy and helped eradicate a disease in one case and proved a deterrent in the other.

I also did an amazing southern hemisphere bridge climb, rode a bike down a volcano, and hiked some amazing and difficult trails; all in some of the most beautiful places in the world.

One of my favorite accomplishments has been raising great children who make me very proud and have helped make some of those other things possible in some cases. I feel very fortunate for all of this.

One suggestion I hope you have also done or are able to do is another favorite: SI G2Gs! Some of the best times with the best people around, who will totally understand and make you feel comfortable from the moment you meet!

Went snorkeling off an island near Haiti. (I found Nemo!) . Did the mountain bike thing and rode all the trails. (Terrifying!) I think my job is interesting and traumatizing at the same time. Performed CPR several times in my life on people and put my hand in an ulcer to clean it and redress it. When I took A&P in college had the opportunity (if you can call it that) to observe actual cadavers and identify different body parts. The worst was when a head had been split down the center and we (the students) had to identify different areas in the brain. The worst part was the cadavers eyes were still open. They were a blue color.Participated in a sexual harassment protest while visiting friends in New York. They were protesting while I handed out flyers they gave me . I ended up on the news from about 20 seconds. They got a quick second or two. Well anyways my life is boring for the most part. These are just a few experiences I have had over the years.

I'm afraid of heights, but did a course through zip lining that included climbing to the top of a 20 foot pole and jumping for a trapeze bar - called a leap of faith.

I decided to learn to cook some things:

Egg flower soup

Clam chowder - lactose-free

Cocktail de camarones

Tomatillo salsa

I have been pretty boring lately except going back to school and getting a degree that should be fabulous for my career (finished last week...). And did a 50km in one day challenge, and did a virtual Camino de Santiago walking challenge (774 kms) (finished these 2 weeks ago).

I have barrel raced, camped for 2 months through the Okanagan Valley (3 times), waterskied with 10 other people at the same time (all doing slalom), drove across Canada twice, rode camels, worked through North Africa for 2 years, written 60 books, swam in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans (and the Mediterranean), rescued 14 animals and loved them their whole lives, planted 22000 tulips to create a lovely design, nursed both parents through cancer until the end, and in my last three years of playing soccer as a goalie in every province in Canada, didn't let in a single goal.
