Yea, I saw that one, too! Funny!

Our DD, a nurse, got her second shot today. The usual side effects, like headache, chills, feels like crap, plus her face felt weird and her tongue started to tingle. So she’s on 3 Benadryl every six hours while symptoms last. Her arm is a lot more sore this time around, too. She’s tired, but she’ll live and she has tomorrow off to recuperate. I’ll get the shot when it’s my turn, but I’m not looking forward to it.

I think many will find it helpful. And it explains why you can't get the virus from the vaccine.

All members of our state legislature got their vaccine shot this week. Well la-de-dah and good for them ... since most are definitely under age 50 and healthy (and don't wear a damn mask!) ... While seniors are still waiting for appointments to be emailed to them from a website that isn't working right.

It's just wrong.

OMG. Charles Barkley thinks pro athletes should get preferential treatment with the vaccine because they pay so much in taxes.

What an entitled ass!

How about all the health care professionals taking care of the athletes and every other sick person. How about the truck drivers working so the vaccines get where they need to go. The list of deserving people goes on and on.

I am a frontline healthcare worker and have received my vaccine and had zero side effects! I wouldn’t worry too much about how quick it became available. Many times the red tape these things need to go through delays it’s availability. With every government having covid as their priority, that red tape was reduced. I trust it! I don’t have any 3rd arm growing or anything.

Many of us, perhaps in our younger years, have taken a drug or two at some point from a drug dealer not knowing where it came from and survived that. I put full confidence in the professionals that have created the vaccines.

I'm hearing so many reports of eligible people refusing the shot. It's partly why nj was able to expand the eligibility. I get it. But I don't like it. I'm hoping that as they see others surviving with no problems, more will step up.

I was told today that the shot is pretty painless...small bore needle, etc. I don't care. I'll put up with momentary pain and a few hours of aches to be able to find some kind of normal again. Not to mention happily and comfortably attending my baby's wedding in May halfway across the continent

Here in IL, it's over 65, but we don't have the doses.

Also, Evanston has its own health department, so the Cook County doses aren't available to use. Meanwhile, Evanston is still vaccinating health care workers.

I'm hoping for vaccination soon.

I'm LOL. Was watching The View this morning, and they were talking about the COVID vaccine. Joy shared that she was getting her first dose later this week, and they were all congratulating her. But Whoopi commented that they needed to stop showing the long needle going in people's arms every five minutes. Sarah Haines agreed and said she didn't need to see the needle anymore, and it might have a counter-intuitive effect, that people might be scared away by seeing that needle over and over again.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one freaked out by the needle.

I feel like I'm at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to my time up to bat. Not even a future date planned for first vaccine. It's going to be a long time yet.

No vaccine for me either. Now it sounds like it could be the end of summer until I can get one.

Looks like I'm going to miss a family wedding this spring.

I’m lucky to say that I am fully vaccinated. I had zero side effects with either injection. The needle isn’t bad at all. It’s like a pinch then it’s over. The needle goes intramuscular so your muscle may hurt the same day or next but it’s bearable for sure!!

Same for me. I'm not optimistic at all. Snail's pace where I live. I've "pre-registered" at 6 places and not even an estimate on which month.

one was me. I felt my job screwed it up.

I've had one, will get another on March 12. I think they're being disbursed as fast as they can be, but still... my husband and kids won't see it until summer.

So many people won't get a flu shot because they don't believe the science behind that so I'm not surprised people are turning down this one.

What I don't understand are the people that won't get a flu shot but will get this one. Seems like either you believe science or you don't.

My wife, PK12 teacher, is three weeks from the second dose. She had arm pain on the first, so is likely to react on the 2nd. My 70 year old mother should be getting the 2nd dose Friday. I'm figuring summer is an outside chance for me at this point unless universities become a priority. Work has been projecting that it will be Jan 2022 before the vaccine is freely available and things return to normal.

The vaccine was extensively tested. There’s like a 0% risk of dying from the vaccine. Not the case for COVID.

I had brief fever and bad muscle aches for a few hours about 12 hours after the second vaccine. Was fine the next day. Sure beats getting the virus.

I hope as many people get it as possible and believe in science.

I got my first dose early this month it was Moderna. I didn't even feel the shot. Those with needle phobia have no worries with Moderna .

What I did have was a sore arm and some super angry knees from my immune response remember I have RA/PA so my immune system is cranky. I get my second one on 3/4. I am really happy to get it even if I do not tolerate it well. It is still way better than getting Covid.

I do think it is important to include I'm getting Moderna. Everyone I know that got Pfizer seems to have less side effects.
