H got his last Saturday - Moderna. He woke up Saturday in the middle of the night with some serious chills throughout the night. Felt achy and tired on Sunday, enough to take some Advil. Had some minor chills Sunday night during the night again, and slept in on Monday morning. But when he woke up, he felt fine. When he got his second Moderna over six months ago, he had a dull headache for a day or so, and felt tired, but not terribly so.

I'm scheduled to get my Pfizer booster tomorrow evening. The only reaction I had to my first two shots was a sore arm... nothing else.

The first few people I know who got their third shots didn't have any reaction. But I guess now that more and more people are getting #3, I'm hearing about more reactions. It certainly won't keep me from getting it, but I'm just wondering what anyone's reactions here might have been.

The H and I got ours last week. We had Pfizer for our first 2 shots about 8 months ago, and got Moderna for our booster. We were both tired the next day, and he felt slightly nauseous. We also had sore arms. We also got flu shots at the same time.

I was surprised at how long the arm soreness lingered. 5 days later, I was still feeling it and couldn't make it through a Pilates class on my usual spring tension. Both of my arms wanted to give out partway through.

I am a Pfizer-vaccine person. First two doses, I was cold, and I mean cold, and so tired that I slept the better part of the next 2 days. With the booster, I felt a sleepy & took a nap. The booster was nowhere near what the 2-dose vaccine was. I got mine in my right (dominant) arm just to work the soreness out, but was only sore 3 days. The pharmacist said she heard people were having fewer side effects.

I got the Moderna shot. I received the first two doses early in the year with no reactions. I received the booster a week ago and felt like I was dying for about a day. Fever, chills, every joint in my body hurt, and then it was gone as quick as it hit.

Wife gets her booster today. Friends who have had theirs says the reaction from the third tends to run into two days where the reaction from the first was basically limited to 12-36 hours out from the injection.

Moderna here. First 2 doses in January and February. I was flu-ish for 2-3 days the first time, 3-4 days the 2nd, starting maybe 8 hours after getting jabbed..

Booster last Tuesday afternoon, flu-ish that night until Thursday morning.

I have not. I know I need to but have been delaying for a number of reasons.

Anyway my MIL got hers 2 days ago and it is kicking her butt. She is having fevers, and achey, and wiped out. She tried to do some stuff today, and ended up going home and going to bed.

Really makes me want to rush out and get mine too.
I want to do it on a Friday morning when I can rest all weekend, but I have been either fighting allergies or a cold all week, so now is not the time. Will try for next weekend.

It looks like the vaccine is every bit as unpredictable as Covid itself. It hits everyone a little different.

My booster was actually the worst out of the 3 shots I got. I’m not sure if that is because I actually got Covid between the first 2.

My arm ached for almost a week and I was run down the whole next day.

If you keep asking people to give you the benefit of the doubt, they will eventually start to doubt your benefit.

Is the booster available to everyone in the U.S.?

It is not available for everyone in Canada. Just specific groups.

I am Not in any of the groups.

Well, 15 hours later, and I only have a sore arm. I don't even think it's as sore as when I had the first two shots, although I definitely felt this one going in more than I did the first two. I did sleep almost ten hours last night, but I think that was from the Xanax I took before I went to get the shot.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Dragn,

There are requirements for boosters, but no proof is required, so in effect, any adult in this area can get a booster if they got their first shots.

@Sisoon:

Where Dragn and I live the government has just begun offering, as of this morning: Starting today, people can book an appointment for a booster dose of an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer/Moderna)if they are aged 70 and older, health-care workers or essential caregivers in congregate settings, people who received two doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine or one dose of Janssen, and First Nations, Inuit and Metis adults and their non-Indigenous household members.

They can make appointments that are at least six months after their second dose.

So H and I (70+) aren't eligible until just after Christmas, as we received our second jab (Pfizer)in late June.

Got my booster ~5 weeks ago. Was fully vax in early Jan. Work in a hospital with COVID pts. I'm older, so that may influence my response but I had really no side affects other than injection site soreness for any of my shots. And less so than my yearly Flu vax. Many of my coworkers have gotten their boosters, and it was similar to their first shot, really nothing. I hope I'm getting an immune response, I've already lost one co worker sad
