DS - thanks so much for the update. You are a strong, beautiful woman. Body hair is just an accessory . You and MH are constantly in our thoughts. Stay positive, you have such an amazing spirit.

imagoodwitch posted 7/10/2016 10:08 AM

Eyebrows are overrated

Think of it this way, no plucking, no shaving, money saving on shampoo, conditioner and what not.

I really can't see how not having any hair will impact your beauty.

Prayers and mojo for positive results from your new treatment plan.

DragnHeart posted 7/10/2016 10:58 AM

Praying for you. Sending mojo and hugs and much love. You are beautiful and amazing!

zebra25 posted 7/10/2016 11:27 AM

Praying for you and MH every day.

I'm going to be ugly...I just know it.

Never, in a million years, would this ever be possible. You are one of the most beautiful people I've ever known, inside and out. None of this will ever change that.

(((hugs)))

ETA....and remember, I'm just down the road if you guys need anything at all. I'm always here for you both.

DS - popping in to say I think of you every time I see this thread bumping around in the forum, even if I don't post.

I'm glad to see that things are going well and your attitude is phenomenal!

FUCK ugly. FUCK cancer. AK47 that shit!!!!

CANCER is ugly. You aren't even in the neighborhood of ugly.

I am holding you in the light, DS.

JM72 posted 7/10/2016 15:24 PM

I don't get it either. As a guy, I see women marching fresh out of chemo & radiation for breast cancer, or any type of cancer, and all I see are true beautiful survivors, nothing else.

You're doing great and I'm still sending you both all my healing mojo.

As for the eyebrows-

Some are born with great eyebrows,
Some achieve great eyebrows,
And some have great eyebrows drawn upon them.

Hey beautiful woman, browless, lashless, hairless in general you will always be beautiful. Truly.

You can do this, you ARE doing this. You are strong, brave and beautiful and you will win this war.

Not ugly, DS. Inner beauty shines. It just does.

Thanks for the update.

There's no way you'll ever be ugly! I know you may feel that way because you don't look like yourself, as you're used to seeing you in the mirror, but you're a beautiful person- inside and outside- and that will always shine through.

Having said that, there are things you can do like false eyelashes (as long as your Dr. approves because they *can* be an infection risk, but I think you'll probably follow proper hand washing, cleansing of the lashes, and storage, so I don't think that would be an issue for you.) and drawing in your brows or stippling them in with a powder and brow stencil.

"this isn't the end to our story...we have so much more to do"

So we keep pushing through...looking for hope and hanging on to all the positive things in our lives.

This is the truth, so keep holding on to that.

I never smoked, but daily radiation apparently caused an area of inflammation/infection in my right lung. They're watching it through quarterly CT scans, but they aren't worried about it because it is a well-known side effect of daily radiation.

I was bald for about 6 months after chemo. Weird thing--my hair grew back CURLY. VERY CURLY. Very strange--mine was always as straight as a stick before.

I've seen that happen a lot- texture changes and even color changes. I hope you like your new, curly hair!

Not possible - you are a beautiful person, with a beautiful spirit and a beautiful soul. XOXO

Strength to you and MH...

You can rock the bald look DS.

Think how cool it might be for summer with no hair?

Seriously, alive is a REALLY good look for you so keep doing whatever you need to do.

Praying for you and MH.

I hate this is part of your journey but I know you are probably encouraging a bunch of other people right along with you. hugs hugs and more hugs
