Test results are back and it is not covid!!

Thank you all so much for the prayers, mojo and hugs. It helped so much!!!

He is still sick. We had our flu shots 2-3 weeks ago. I haven't heard if it's a good match this year but if it is the flu it should at least help.

Fingers crossed I don't get sick. I woke up with a headache this morning.

Thank you again. Stay safe.

..GREAT NEWS zebra,

Our prayers will continue...

Is it possible that the recent flu shot can have some adverse side effects like your H is experiencing?

Stay safe both of you.

That is great Zebra!! So glad that stressful period of time is behind you for now. MOJO for quick recovery from his affliction and that no one else gets it (or anything else!). Getting the flu shot is definitely a great move.

DS became sick and needed the test because of his symptoms and thankfully tested negative. The rest of the family became sick with the same symptoms, likely contracting it from him, so all needed the test also just in case because all go to work and school away from home. Because of where he works, he was required to test negative twice more for COVID before being allowed to return to work. All good for now.

((((more HUGS)))) because I'm sure you are feeling drained from all the stress!

Zebra,
Iíve had COVID twice. None of my family had any symptoms at all; ds21 tested negative just 2 weeks after I was sick the 2nd time. I wore a mask at all times and confined myself to the game room and one end of the sofa. We also kept hand sanitizer in every room.

My MIL died from it in May. She was in the hospital for about ten days and then died at home a few weeks later. My FIL was with her constantly prior to her hospitalization and then after she came home. He is very high risk and he didnít get it.

Itís crazy. My H and FIL are both smokers, overweight. FIL has multiple comorbidities. DS21 had asthma as a child. I donít smoke and have no chronic health problems and Iíve had it twice.

Just sayiní. Itís not a foregone conclusion for you.

Prayers lifted for you.

Great news Zeb.
Make sure if he continues to not improve to insist on a second test. If they are doing nasal swab and not tickling your brain there is a chance it wasn't deep enough.

Like HF said there are lots of people who get and have comorbid conditions that are just fine. Latest research shows blood type may play a part.

Thanks again. You all are so kind.

Thebighurt, were multiple tests required because of false negatives? Glad it wasn't covid but sorry you all got sick. No fun being sick with anything.

HFSSC, I'm so sorry you had to endure this awful illness twice and lost a loved one.

Thanks for the advice Tush. He is better today. Still has a fever but not super high like before.

So far I just have a headache which is how it started for him but mine could be from lack of sleep and non stop cleaning and worry. Fingers crossed.

His employer will let him come back with one negative test. He is an essential worker and they are buried and short staffed so I'm sure they are just anxious for him to come back.

Prayers and mojo for everyone and your families to stay healthy.

Glad WH is on the mend, Zebra. Hope you get some rest now and are soon symptom free yourself. Getting sleep and having less stress can't hurt.

DS is an adult living far from me and it was his family who all got sick. It took around two weeks for each of them to feel better. Thanks for thinking of them. It may well be the false negative issue that required him to get the extra test. They are a very essential business service and need to be as sure as possible to keep sicknesses from the facility.

Take care of you.
