I can't begin to put into words the loss I feel with my sweet friend's passing or for the heartbreak I carry for you, MH, and your family.

DS was a light to so many who knew her, whether IRL or in our virtual home here. She was a great soul.

When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.

When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.

When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.

Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,
fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignorance
of dark, cold
caves.

And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.”

Fly beautiful soul DS - you are so loved. ❤️

So very sorry to read this sad news. Last picture of her in her bed, at home, was so heart-warming. She passed away where she loved to be.

MH take good care of yourself. You are a good man, that is evident.

MH,

I have no words that can take the pain and grief away. But I send you my prayers and love.

I never met either of you irl, but I feel as though I know both DS and your strength and that will serve you well.

If it wasn't for the both of you and this site, I doubt I would be alive, so I have always thought you were both angels. DS just got her official wings.

So many, so far & wide have been touched by her kindness, since of humor, and profound compassion. What a legacy, the # is unknown how far her help/healing reached. Her ripple affect will be felt for generations. I am truly honored and humbled to have had the chance to talk with her, laugh & cry. I still send people to this site, because of how I felt when I joined, how it's helped me. I may not post anymore, or rarely, what I learned here never leaves me. I pay it forward every chance I get.

(((MH & loved ones)))

MH,

I'm so very sorry for the loss of DS. She was one of the lightbearers of this world. It's a little dimmer without her.

Hugs,
K

I hadn't posted here much lately but I did keep coming back here to check on DS. I'm still in shock even though I found out this morning. I just didn't think God would take another Angel...especially one so needed here. She worked so hard here and believed so much in what she did....she put her entire heart into her work here. What a great lady.

And I also wanted to say she was so very kind to me....every time we PM'd...she was so sweet, so encouraging....I would think she was so busy with the thousands and thousands here she had to deal with but she always knew who I was and what I was posting about and always was so encouraging to me. Some of her words will stay with me always and meant so much to me.

I want to wrap all of you in my arms; the pain is almost unbearable. DS will always be in my heart, as will you MH. I just found this little story, and I think it's fitting:

A disciple asks the rebbe: “Why does Torah tell us to ‘place these words upon your hearts’? Why does it not tell us to place these holy words in our hearts?” The rebbe answers: “It is because as we are, our hearts are closed, and we cannot place the holy words in our hearts. So we place them on top of our hearts. And there they stay until, one day, the heart breaks and the words fall in.” — Hasidic tale

We need something to fill our hearts today.
