I’m devastated
When I started this journey, I wanted an incognito name, so I chose Williesmom- Willie was my dog. That was 11 years ago.
I got him shortly after my wxh’s first A, and he has kept me sane for the past 14 years.
He had been in declining health, and I was trying my best to do the right thing for him. Last Friday, I made the difficult decision to put him down.
He was my buddy and my sanity. I miss him so much, and my house is so, so quiet.

My father passed last week
After 60 years of smoking, he lost his battle with COPD. we were all with him when he went- it was actually peaceful at the end. I had a somewhat difficult relationship with him, but I loved him. It's been a rough couple of weeks.
On a good note, SO stepped up - big time. He was there for me and my family in every way possible. He charmed my 85 year old aunt and my 7 year old cousin. He helped me work the line at the funeral home, because there were so many people there to pay their respects. Something as simple as bringing me a bottle of water when I needed it was a most thoughtful gesture...
When I was married, I had to keep an eye on wxh at all times - running interference because of his rudeness to everyone. Such a refreshing thought to realize that God has given me a partner.
I will miss my dad so much but am thankful for the love and family that I have been given.
