Moved! I'm here! I legit live somewhere that there's palm trees and wild lizards 😁

My furniture should be here tomorrow, and looking SO forward to having my bed back, and my TV. My dogs and cats were amazing on the drive and my naked cat has been having the time of her life chasing all the bugs laugh

And all the SI juju please that my CO house sells quick. That's the last piece of the puzzle...

Sitrep - supposedly my furniture and stuff will be here today. Just FYI if anyone is doing a crosscountry move stay the hell away from SafeShip Moving... they suck suck suuuuuuuuck.

CO house has 8 showings lined up so far for Friday (goes live on MLS on Thursday) and my realtor is doing an open house on Saturday too. Fingers crossed this beeyotch is under contract by this weekend - pretty sure it will be.

My lil rental house in Louisiana is so so cute. One level (yay) and so much more reasonably sized for me (went from 2300sf to about 1300sf). I can't get over how GREEN everything is - my plants are in heaven! Also so weird and cool that my backyard has things planted in the ground that I have only ever seen as houseplants back home. Seeing palm trees everywhere is just mind-blowing for me too laugh I can't wait to get into my forever house and get my garden going!

I have not yet seen any frogs (I love frogs), but saw a few lil lizards and a cardinal, which I had never seen in person before, so that thrilled me to pieces. Cardinals were my grandad's favorite so it felt like he was there welcoming me home.

The weather will def take some getting used to, but so far has not been unbearable. Not used to the heat and humidity, but am definitely over the snow and shoveling so am enjoying the thought of not having that anymore.

So far I can say that I am so glad I made this decision. I think I am very much going to love it here!

Aw, thanks for sharing! The symbolic welcome from your grandad, I can so relate to that. And you have time to adapt to the heat before June, too! 😅

Ellie, you’re in a place where gators come out and eat pets for snacks. Keep all your pets safe. Don’t let them be gator tater tots. Spoken in my best Morgan City accent.

Outstanding Ellie!!!!! I am so happy for you. I grew up in Chicago and can totally relate to the plant thing. I went to Hawaii on a school trip and I remember seeing a beautiful variegated vine growing to the top of a palm tree and thinking "Why is that so familiar?" It was a philodendron which I had only known as a houseplant. I was in shock. Enjoy it! And enjoy the food in Louisiana!
