Good for you Tush. My circumstances were similar, but after a regular and triple lumpectomy that didn’t leave much to work with. We opted for a mastectomy on that side and a reduction on the other. Also had implant reconstruction on the mastectomy side, no chemo or radiation for me, just a hormone suppressant for 5 years. So far so good, just a little lopsided lol.
Hang in there. You will hardly notice it before long!

FF I hear ya. I went into to the meeting with the surgeon fully prepared to tell her just take it all on both sides.
I'm healing and finally was able to sleep on a side last night. After a month of back only it sure did feel nice.
I also was told I can wear whatever ki d of bra I want now but definitely more comfortable with them not moving and strapped down.
No more surgery for me at least at this point.

Started on one of the new meds. Having some potential side effects ....monitoring over the weekend.
Healing well and feeling good.
Was able to resume fetch with the dogs. They are very happy. Too bad its too dang hot to play.
90s for the next week. Can't swim yet from surgery so guess spending a lot of time sweating.

For anyone still interested or following along......
Had my simulation appt. Good news is deep breaths mive my heart away from the area to be zapped so even though each session will take longer long term damage to my heart is minimized.
It's hotter the hades here going on a full week. So the choice for marking was the gross purple markers they have used forever or can get tattooed with pink dots that lightup when UV light is shone on it. So yesterday I technically got my first tattoos. Lol. I never have ever wanted a tattoo. But both my kids their partners my dad my sister all have them. Anyway now I have tats too. Lol
Anyway radiation treatment start July 10th and will be 16 sessions to start.

Yes, they advised me to practice those deep breaths even before my simulation appt. It's really not that difficult. I think once or twice they told me to let out just a tiny bit of air!
My radiology center (Dana-Farber) does not use the tattoos anymore - a friend of mine was disappointed that we wouldn't be twinsies!!
Now, I didn't have any work done on the other breast, so I only had the one side that was still healing from surgery - I did find that the skin felt a little tight when I had to raise my arms up over my head and into those arm rests for the session, but otherwise, it was a piece of cake. My center was run so efficiently that I barely had time to change into my johnny before they were calling me back.
And I never really felt the fatigue that everyone talked about. I was just getting back into my strength training and Pilates, and was able to do that while going through radiation. Of course, I wasn't working, though. And my Pilates teacher is also a PT, so she was very skilled at helping me make modifications where needed. After surgery and our move, the ability to get back to working out again provided some much-needed normalcy to my life again. I think I only felt like a couple of times I needed to apply something to the skin area - it never really got much more than a tiny bit pink. I kept waiting for it to be really irritated, but that never happened. I just finished up the Gentle Cure radiation treatment for the basal cell on my nose a couple of weeks ago, and that small area got more red than the skin on my breast! It was 20 treatments.
Glad to hear you're moving forward with everything quickly - it'll be that much sooner that you get it over with!
