OMG! Count me as one who FAILED!!!

I signed up because I really wanted to participate and I knew I would need the boost from seeing the cards come in. But I assumed I would be getting a PM telling me how to proceed and who to address to! Ugh! I feel so stupid for not realizing I would be getting the info from the thread itself.

I'm so sorry to all who were expecting my cards!!!!! crying crying crying

Next year I will be better prepared (I already have all the cards laugh )!

So wonderful to start receiving those glitter-laden envelopes today. 😁. Brightened the whole day. Thanks to all.

Got a giant bundle of cards yesterday. Kiddo and I will set a time to open the glitter bombs sometime this week. Thank you, Elves and everyone else. This goes a long way in helping me continue to reclaim the holiday season. smile smile smile

Ellie, WhatsRight, and anyone else that thinks they let us down just realize that you don't have that kind of power! I participate in the exchange because the joy to me is sending the cards, even if I didn't get a single one back. One of these years it could be any one of us who plans on participating but life got in the way. It happens, we all understand. When I first did this in 2012 I couldn't of believed the joy it gave me during a very troubling time. SI was here for me, so now I can be here for others that need a lift.

What Tred said. He's a wise dude, and I echo his sentiments.

Got a big bunch yesterday! Made me smile all evening smile

To those who, for whatever reason, did not get their cards out...PLEASE let go of feeling bad. Things happen (as we all know) and I have always looked at the cards this way - I send to make someone's day a little brighter. If I get a card then I am blessed, too.

I don't believe this exchange is supposed to be a "tit-for-tat" kind of thing.

It's just for sending love and smiles.

To the Christmas card elves:

I received a bunch of cards in the mail even though I needed to withdraw this year. I don't feel right about that and I'm not sure what to do about it. Is there any way I can make a cash donation to the Christmas card effort?

Got a stack of 18! I usually wait until Christmas Eve for glittery happiness, but I just had to get into them. Such cheer and kindness. Big huge thanks to everyone.

And for those who might have been noobs an exchange or two ago (I won't name names, but Losfer), you've got this be-jeweling thing down now just fine.

A special shout out to the sneaky deaky tape-ers of all corners so a letter opener can't be used. Well played. I've made notes....

You can always make a donation to the site. The menu bar at the top right has an option to donate. Not necessary but definitely appreciated.

If you keep asking people to give you the benefit of the doubt, they will eventually start to doubt your benefit.

Excellent suggestion, thank you.

And thank you to everyone who sent cards even though I sent nothing. It was a treat to receive them, and I did not heed any advice to open these cards outside or even open them slowly, and I ended up with glitter all over the counter and floor. It's OK. It made me smile!

I tore the envelope open and glitter went everywhere and I'm like "What the fuu.... Oh yeah, that's right, they said this happens"

Every card thereafter, whether I could feel the bulge of glitter through the envelope or not, was handled very delicately!

Merry Christmas to you all.

Annual SI tree tradition. All the ornaments (excluding the little bulbs) are from things people have sent over the years. If I was better I'd of wrote down who sent what, but not really a strength smile

Edited to change image size from thumbnail. Didn't realize that you couldn't see crap.

My daughter is out of town for the first time on Christmas, ever, so I am saving all the glittery goodness for Christmas when me and my little doggies will enjoy a little cheer thanks to SI. This site saved my life many years ago, and still keeps giving me reasons to hope and feel good about people again! Thanks

Hey, Tred, did ours show up? I don't see it in the picture, which has me wondering if it got bounced by the post office for being too thick or non-machinable or whatever other festive violation I may have committed.

Oh wait, now I see it! I was thinking it would be standing unfolded; I didn't consider that you might have refastened the ribbon.

I owe TimeSpiral an apology for doubting his mailing skills!

I liked the way it looked with the ribbon! Might use the ribbon to tie an ornament next year, I like incorporating things I receive in the XMAS card exchange to decorate the tree smile . I try and make as many cards visible as possible, but it's challenging. Fun tip, we use craft scissors to make next years gift tags out of the cards once the season is over. And of course the 2021 ornament has been added to the tree now.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all on SI!

Happy New Year! I had saved my stack o' cards for AFTER Christmas, because I knew it would be a pick me up after a hard and busy season. I cannot say how much I LOVE this exchange. Opening each card, with the sweet notes, treats and glittery laughs, brings me joy unlike anything else. Thank you, thank you to each of you for participating and for the incredible elves who make it possible. smile
