Smoked some flat iron steaks over apple last night and seared them on the grill to finish them. Highly recommended, and I've found that beer goes well with it. I've been using a Camp Chef wood pellet smoker for over a year now, and if you love smoking brisket, pork, ribs, or steak I highly recommend it. Had a great get together yesterday - my sister from my Dad's side was up from Florida and my sister from my mom's side were over for the night. Haven't been in the same room with both of them in 22 years. To make it really special my daughter, who neither of them have met, came by for the afternoon. Good times.

That's great about the get together, Tred, sounds like a one of a kind moment! I've been starting to look at smokers, and I feel like pellet smokers might be my speed. I appreciate the recommendation. Cheers!

I'd add in my 2c about smokers, but the only smoking I do is with a pipe.

ETAA: I'm going to start sending a few newbie BHs here. You guys up for it?

Friday and Saturday night I smoked some of the cuban cigars I brought back from my trip the other week, does that count for anything? Went really well with a nice cold beer in this heat. (I may just have to have another one tonight, but they've got to last me for another 5 1/2 months)

I couldn't find my usual H. Upmann variety (petite corona) at the local Casa del Habanos on the island so I ended up with a box of Romeo y Julieta that are surprisingly good.....

Good to see you, tbkjcn. What is your current car situation? My SUV is in the shop and I'm borrowing my son's 2001 Ford Mustang. He says I look like one of those "middle age crisis dudes" driving it.

Losfer, hey...

What is your current car situation?

After nearly a month in the shop I got the S back the end of May. It looks pretty good, and I was really surprised that they were able to save the wheel that was snapped off (but not the tire), but when they painted the bumper cover they didn't tape off the VIN tag, so I ended up losing two. The fender that was replaced, and the bumper.... Oh well, I wasn't planning on selling it anytime soon so I guess the loss in value is academic. I'll sell it the day I chirp the tires going from first to second and it doesn't produce any adrenaline. Cuz I'll be dead.....

He says I look like one of those "middle age crisis dudes" driving it.

Convertible? If you're gonna go full mid-life-crises mode, its gotta be a convertible. I'm not afraid to admit it, I'm 54, and I drive a mid-life-crises car on the weekends....... I do not however have a newsboy cap and driving gloves, which would be required to complete the whole thing, but I'm not a hat kind of guy.

Hope the car isn't anything serious/costly and you get it back soon. Or, if you're enjoying the Mustang, then I hope it takes a while and you're forced the drive it for several weeks. Hey, I've got nothing against Mustangs, one of my best friends drives a Mustang, and we still let him come to the "Old Guyz with Convertiblez" meetings.....

Ouch, but at the same time, good on you for getting it back. Must be nice to have her back home!

Not quite, but it has a sunroof! Just a very temporary situation. I may have to wear a hat to avoid a bit of sunburn on my head.

Not a huge Ford fan, honestly, but this has been a good thing, just having the extra car, and the relatives of mine whom have made that happen. Good stuff! My own car is still out of comish due to a bad power steering pump. Working on it. Maybe once the D is finalized I'll figure out my "official" mid-life crises vehicle!

anyone here make the "genius" decision to move out after DDay? I really wish I hadnt now.

She has the kids and the house (although house is very much still in my name).

I really wish I had slung her out. There's no going back now.

AP is in the sidelines I am pretty sure just waiting for the divorce to go through before he can slime his way in. I actually don't care because the fat fuck can buy me out.

Currently living at my parents - 38 years old FFS.

anyone else regret fleeing the family home - what's your status now?

Hey there, puffstuff. Welcome to the Menz thread. I haven't been in your situation personally but, if I remember correctly, you're not the only one.

Have your spoken to a divorce attorney?

Oh yeah, I left the house, puffstuff. My only regret was going back...that was self inflicted psychological warfare!

I actually kicked her out first. A couple months later I said fuck it and left, since the house was in her and her family’s hometown. A few months after that, I agreed to move back and give things another shot. That was the most moronic move I’ve ever made. Shoulda stayed gone.

What’s your regret with leaving?

I regret it because she has far too much cake than she is entitled to. However, on the other hand, it is my kids' home as much as hers and I wouldn't want to uproot them.

Little update - although i am no contact, I had to go to a performance that my daughter was in last night for a local baseball game. Awful. I had to sit next to her. We barely exchanged a word. A friend spoke to her later on in hte evening and said how sad he was for us both. She simply said, "i am losing everything" and walked off.

Could this be her "waking up"? She certainly wasnt like this the week after DDay. But since NC and a shit ton of consequences have headed her way, perhaps there is a shift in her.

I dont really care, tbh. I am just glad the fat womanising POSOM didn't turn up last night too.

Could this be her "waking up"?

Could be.

Or and more than likely, it could be a brief moment of regret and self pity. Far from any actual waking up. Give it some time, her instagram will be filled with idiotic quotes meant to empower the poor aldultress. Then you’ll know, what looked like a possible wake up call, was just the brink of a double down.

Could be, but do you want to R with someone who wants to come back because she doesn't want to lose all of what she had?

I recommend being prepared with some ideas about how to prove that she wants to come back because she wants you, not just her kids - who will grow up and move out - and a comfortable life.

I wanted R from the start, but I didn't want it unless my W wanted to be with me for the rest of our lives. On d-day we were looking at another 15 years alone together, if we have average lifespans. I wanted those years to be filled with joy - and I know this is projecting, but I want my fellow BSes to lead joyful lives, too..

Don't sell yourself out, puff. If your W wakes up, I hope that's about realizing she wants you, irrespective of kids, house, car, clothes....

I deeply enjoyed having no contact with her.
