Who's watching and what events are you most impressed by?
I like watching most stuff, but of course, the gymnastics (mostly women), swimming and damn.... that water polo! I think those people must be the most all-round fit people in the Olympics. I just watched the women beat Greece and one of the announcers mentioned how water polo is a combination of soccer, rugby, basketball, swimming, lacrosse, etc. ALL WHILE TREADING WATER! My kid's high school was well known for having strong swimming and water polo teams, and have won state many times. So we would go to an occasional game and it's just such a demanding sport. I guess the women wear two or three bathing suits because opponents can sometimes be known as instigators of 'titty twists' underneath the water where refs can't see it. I can only imagine what guys do to each other under the water. 😲

I will watch whatever is on. My favorites are swimming, gymnastics, women's basketball, soccer and the equestrian events.

Love lots of the summer sports. Rugby is my new favorite. Damn talk about tough...
Also love water polo as I played in college on a rec league and it it can get pretty nasty under the water. It's a lot of fun too.

I really love the women's gymnastics, equestrian events, and track and field. I'm so impressed with tiny little Sha'Karri Richardson's speed. She's only 5'1"!

Wow! The women's gymnastics team was dominant today! I love how they call it the Redemption Tour.
They had quite the celebrity showing there to support them! I loved seeing Michael Phelps in awe of what he was watching unfold in the arena.

OMG, the US women's rugby team beating the Aussies in the final seconds of the game was SO exciting!
Did you see the Nigerian women's basketball team beat Australia? Nigeria was ranked 12th and the Aussies were ranked 3rd. I love a good underdog story!
Snoop has been a blast to watch.
All of the gymnastics has been amazing. I want Biles to keep on stacking up those medals!
The 19yo swimmer from Romania, Popovici, who still practices in the neighborhood pool, dodging all the little kids. His nickname is Chlorine Daddy. I almost want to root for him over the Americans!

I love, love, love the Summer Games.
Swimming... Bob Bowman, who was Michael Phelps' coach and now coaches the French swimmer who is winning everything, was a year ahead of me in high school and was our drum major in band. He had blond hair then (no hair now, lol) and it was always tinged green from the chlorine in the pools he was in every morning and afternoon. And he went by Bobby, lol. It's really hard for me to think of him as "Bob" but it is SO cool seeing him there and seeing his interviews, etc.
And the Golden Girls team is just... awe inspiring. Although I had heard they were considering F Around and Find Out for their official team name and I was totally up for that.

My computation says the top runners in the men's 10,000 meter race ran faster than I can ride my bike for 10,000 meters. I'm not gonna quit riding, but it makes me think.

Well, that 100m men's final was mind-boggling. I think Noah Lyles is both incredibly skilled and lucky that the rules are what they are... winning by 0.005 seconds! The analysis by the broadcaster afterward was very entertaining!

BTW… do all of those high level celebrities in attendance really think they’re blending in with the regular folks when they wear their sunglasses and hats indoors at these competitions?
I think it’s hilarious!
(Yes, not all of them do this)

A kid from my town participated in the skateboarding for the USA. She didn’t make it to the next round today, but she’s just 19, so maybe in 4 years. Fun to root for a hometown girl!

I started following rugby player Ilona Maher on social media. She is HILARIOUS. I love her.
Love love love watching Noah Lyles get hyped! Can't wait for the 200 tomorrow. And how about Hocker passing up the two favorites in the 1500 - and Nuguse taking bronze?!
I was sad for Sha'Carri Richardson. I read that she got held up outside the gates, along with Jamaica's Fraser-Pryce, before the race because of some last minute rule change that required athletes to arrive on buses. That had to mess with her mojo. It was cool that Saint Lucia got their first gold, though!
