I am just beside myself about Betty White. It just seems so unfair that she didn't make it to 100 (18 days short). I think they already filmed a celebration of her 100th birthday. I look forward to watching it. But I am just in shock. The Golden Girls is my go-to every night at bedtime, as a way for me to wind down and let go of the stress of the day (thank you Hulu).

Both American treasures for sure. Madden was such fun and a great person.
Betty she was the real deal. Old time star that could do it all. Its a shame she didn't see 100 but so happy she didn't suffer or get dementia.
What a ride. 99 year 11 months. Just consider all the things that have happened in her lifetime.
RIP Betty.

As many others have probably been doing, I've been reading a lot of stories, and watching various interviews with her (one hilariously popping up is an interview Joan Rivers did with Betty White when Rivers was guest hosting The Tonight Show). Someone once asked White about Rose Nylund's character, and she replied that RN was terminally naive. I don't know if any of you have ever taken those online quizzes to see which Golden Girls character you're most like, but I always ended up with RN. Now I know why... terminally naive.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has seen this, but on January 17th, which would have been Betty White's 100th birthday, people are being encouraged to donate to their favorite pet charity/rescue in her honor. The daughter of a friends of ours does tremendous work, trapping and rescuing stray dogs, so I'm going to reach out to her and get the name of an organization she trusts.
It was also released that BW died a week after suffering a stroke. I'm sort of glad she didn't linger long - she would have hated that. Also, her last word spoken was Allen - her husband's name.

Yes i have seen the posts about donating on the 17th. The local shelters and rescues here have given info to donate to them. Theres an amazing horse rescue not far from here. Thinking of donating some extra halters etc to them.
Also heard about the stroke. Also glad she went quickly.
Im so glad her last word was her husbands name. I had read that she was looking forward to being reunited with him. Its comforting to think they are happily together again..
