An old school friend posted it. Another old school friend replied that having an actual family doctor and being able to have yearly health checks would be awesome (so many up here do not even have a family doctor!!!).

A huge debate started over someone posting that the vaccine isnt poison, has been tested etc. The original poster sited a new study out of Israel that says people who had covid and recovered had a better immunity than those with the vaccine. This study has yet to be peer reviewed. Her point was that since she had covid and recovered then she shouldn't be forced to get the vaccine.

I sited a response to that study stating that the results are pretty much a crap shoot. Some people had great immunity, some people had Ok immunity, some people did not have any immunity after the specified time (i think 4-5 months?).

What baffles my mind is people taking the risk to be infected a second time which we KNOW can happen and being more sick or even dying because the antibodies were not there. Something that could have been prevented by getting the vaccine. And now they are taking up an ICU bed needed for the person in a car crash, had a heart attack etc...

Another thing I’m really sick of. “We have to respect both sides of the mask issue.” No, the fuck, we do not. I do not have to respect your ridiculous toddler tantrum about this because it affects me and those I love. If you want to believe that showering in urine makes your skin glow and protects you from sunburn… well, rock on and you do you. But if you decide to spray pee all over me, we are gonna have a problem.

I saw an article about how doctors at Dallas hospitals with full ICUs were considering prioritizing vaccinated patients. Someone commented, "Guess these are the death panels they were worried about."

My daughter's sister-in-law is a rabid anti-masker and anti-vaxxer. She held a slumber party at her house for the volleyball team. A few days later, her daughter was sent home from school by the nurse and told that she couldn't return for two weeks unless she presented a negative Covid test, and that refusal to submit a test would be recorded as a positive result. That pissed SIL off, so she took her kiddo to get tested, and lo and behold, she popped positive. SIL was pissed that she now couldn't attend the funeral for her uncle who had died three days before OF COVID. Also, her FIL was in the hospital with Covid while this was happening. Talk about cognitive dissonance.

This bitch also had the audacity to post on Facebook a couple of days later that they were going camping and did anyone want to come along? I had already unfriended and blocked so that I didn't get into a fistfight at the next birthday party, or I would have lit her up.

Whew. Guess I needed to barf that up.

That this sentence was something that could be conceived of is just too much, isn't it? I thought I had a low opinion of the human race prior to 2020, but whoo boy it has plummetted since then. This is absolutely fascinating on a "I need to write a thesis on group psychology" level, but it is seriously disturbing to watch this insanity play out in real time. I administer ivermectin to shelter dogs to treat worms. What's the next miracle cure gonna be? Munching on rose petals? Miracle Grow? I guess we exhausted the ingesting bleach thing pretty quickly. It's as if we don't have incredible scientists and medical technology working hard to resolve this. People are behaving as if they're back in ye olden days when you just looked for something in the backyard out of desperation to heal them. And why? To stick it in the eye of the smarty pants people who know things?

I've known people to lose their family members to COVID and refuse to blame it on COVID. People who were hospitalized with COVID and still rail against masks and vaccines and social distancing. People are ready to die and watch others die rather than admit being wrong. It is insanity.

I just read that Joe Rogan got COVID - he told his doctor to give him Ivermectin. There's no fixing stupid.

Of course, with his resources, he also got a bunch of other stuff that the average person wouldn't get, so he'll say it was the Ivermectin, when it was really the monoclonal antibodies that made him get better more quickly.

I would bet money that he's vaxxed.

I guess there's ivermeten tablets for dogs but for horses it comes in a huge pre measured syringe. I have it sitting in front of me now. It starts off at 100kg. People taking this are bound to overdose on it and get sick. I mean, it says not to give more than the recommended dose TO YOUR HORSE!!!! Wheres the common sense?

Went out for a happy hour a couple weeks ago with a gal from my old company and she told me that the company is discussing having a vaccine mandate put in place, wherein you can no longer work there if you refuse to get vaccinated, barring legitimate doctor-verified reasons for not doing so. I love this and think every company should do it.

Well I guess they had a zoom round-table meeting and one lady (who I worked with and is a total idiot even before 2020) went on a rant about how she 'heard the vaccine is being used to sterilize people' and 'her religious beliefs were against that'. Okay one, you're fifty-fucking-eight, you walnut - I think your child bearing years are pretty much done. And two - all four of your kids (who range in age from 30-36) still live at home because they are idiots too, so I think not allowing you to have any more children isn't the worst thing that could happen, just saying. Thirdly - it would be a pretty stupid move by the government to use this to sterilize people because the ones that shouldn't breed are definitely the ones who would refuse it. And lastly, she's catholic. I can bet you anything you want that the pope got his shots, so splain to me how 'your religion' says you can't get vaccinated.

Meanwhile at my new company, we have had now three waves of Covid go through (including two vaccinated folks in the last wave) and there are STILL asshats who are refusing to get vaccinated.

I've given it to shelter dogs in the syringe too. There's definitely a dosage measurement. I guess I could measure out a dosage for a person. Mix it with some wet food and coax them into eating it with pets and happy words. I just can't with this whole thing.

I know 'of' someone who is really sick with Covid, tested positive last week and was given the IV meds and sent home to quarantine for 8 days. After four days she was feeling better and she's out and about, mask-less - infecting others. During the AIDS/HIV crisis, a person could be criminally charged for infecting others.

It's so hard to understand the mindset of people about this pandemic. It's like they are fighting for the right to kill others and -- themselves.

OK I can see that some of you all are just listening to the news and not doing your own research.

1. Ivermectin can be and is given to humans in certain instances. It is a pharmaceutical that can be prescribed by Drs. NO not everyone taking it is taking Horse, or Dog doses. They are taking the actual drug intended for humans at human dosages.

2. Ivermectin is getting a bad rap not unlike Hydroxchloroquine. Which also got a bad wrap and was proven "To not stop the spread of the virus". DUH. We knew that. And when every nurse and Dr working in a covid unit, without proper PPE was asking for it, they weren't asking for it to prevent getting Covid. They were asking for it because it has been proven to stop the Cytokine storm that happens with some folks with the virus. The Cytokine storm is what kills people when they get this virus. The cytokine storm is the massive overly aggressive immune response the body has to to the virus. This is what causes respiratory, and multi-stystem failure.

3. Ivermectin is believed to do the same, and that is why it is popularized right now, and yes there are plenty of Darwin award winners out there picking it up from Farm and Home, and don't even know why they are taking it or how it effects the virus.

Just like I tell my patients every single day, I will tell you all this. This Virus is strange, and does things unlike a lot of other Corona viruses, and it is highly unpredictable yet in who is going to get deathly ill from it, and who is going to be just fine. I suspect it will take another 3-5 years to figure it all out, and the Covid illness itself will hopefully be long gone by the time we do.

So just because the folks on the news are telling you something doesn't mean it is exactly right. The studies that are being done are focusing on not exactly the right things either, but that happens all the time, and is usually as a result of the bias of the scientist, or funding that leads to it.

Be smart. Wear your mask. Wash your hands! Properly and OFTEN!!! Socially distance. We do know that obese people, and people with underlying respiratory and autoimmune issues tend to get sicker faster. That doesn't mean a young healthy 20 yo that runs daily won't though. Reinforce to family and friends that we are seeing people die still. We are seeing kids die right now. We are seeing healthy people end up on vents.

Just be careful, and if you feel bad do exactly what Joe did when he got sick. Isolate, get tested, and get treatment early. And if you do you may be lucky and feel fine by day 3 or 5.

What i read was that Tractor Supply was out of the

Ivermectin used for horses due to people buying it up to self medicate. This increased the price due to demand....figures just when all us horse people are about to do the fall worming...

And while studies might be underway, why the hell are people jumping at taking a wormer that has not been 10o% proven to be effective instead of being vaccinated which has been studied AND is based off tried and true science???

No, I'm aware that Ivermectin does have uses for humans and that there's something there. The idiots you reference here are the ones I'm ridiculing and rolling my eyes at. If I get COVID and my DOCTOR says I need Ivermectin, I will be taking that as directed. What I'm not ever going to be doing is raiding my dogs' heartworm pills or buying up the horse version from Tractor Supply.

The six best words I've heard all day: I want to get a vaccine.

I stopped in CVS to pick up a prescription and as I was leaving, heard someone tell a pharmacy worker that he was there for the vaccine. When they asked if it was for the flu vaccine, he said, "No, the other one." And she said "COVID?" And he said yea.

I mean, I know people are still getting vaccinated, but this reminded me that those who are getting it now, are coming around, and I hope it can only mean lots of other people are coming around. I wanted to go ask this man what moved him to get it at this point, but I didn't want to interrupt the protocol!
