Today I am thankful for the sunshine and beautiful weather. Hearing the birds sing and "talking" to an owl in our woods last night. Everyone is coming back for the summer and I didn't realize how much I missed the birds until they come back.

I know spring is officially underway when I hear the redwing blackbirds "tert-tweee!"

God has really blessed us. So much to be thankful for.

I have a confession, I have a date tomorrow night with a gay man. It’s ok his H and my W know about it 🤣

He is my best friend from childhood, we love Judas Priest and our spouses couldn’t care less about them. He gave me the ticket for my birthday so we will be rocking out tomorrow night!!!! This friend is very special to me he introduced me to my beautiful W, he has been a supporter of our M for 31 years.

Rock on!!!🤘

That’s awesome, Tanner! Enjoy the Judas Priest! 😊

I’m also grateful for the weather. I walked to work yesterday and the sunrise and beautiful full moon were gorgeous. On my walk home, it was so warm I didn’t even need a jacket.

The radishes, lettuce, and micro greens in my garden have sprouted. I’m grateful for that, too.

MIgander...I LOVE the sounds of Spring too grin ! I just heard a gaggle of geese flying overhead...going back up north to get away from the oncoming HEAT that will be down here SOON laugh !!

Tanner...isn't it AWESOME...to be able to see the Blessings again smile ?! I have to admit that I don't know much about Judas Priest. I relate more towards Loretta Lynn or Conway Twitty grin . But having FUN with a friend like this...sounds pretty GREAT Cuz smile . ENJOY!!!

Grieving...your garden sounds DELICIOUS grin !!! My H has been getting the garden ready for planting this week with the tiller. Hurricane Ida caused our last cedar tree to fall...but that actually made room for our garden to almost double smile . My Dad LOVED radishes...so that was a given to plant every year when I was growing up. Thank you for writing about that...it brought back a cool memory from my childhood...and my Daddy smile .

Yea, JP isn’t the greatest band ever but they were my first love. Their music takes me back to my childhood, so many good memories in that music. They made me want to be a rock star, I have no musical talent so I’m just a fan 😀

I'm thankful for my lifting gains.

I know a bunch of people hit the gym more after being betrayed. It's a great way to get in shape, being betrayed.

Anyway, I set some goals for the year, and already hit a few major goals. Time to set new ones :)

I threatened to set my goals to my high school maxes, but I think that's a pipe dream...

@This0is0fine

I experienced the infidelity diet and lost 50lbs after Dday. In 2.5 years I have maintained it and remain at goal weight. Nutrition isn’t as hard as sticking to the workouts. My W is a personal trainer and can have me whipped into better shape real quick, I just hate working out.

Between the infidelity and my father dying of complications related to Type 2 diabetes at the same time, I lost a good chunk of weight too.

I was mostly just running to get in shape.

I started lifting seriously again last November.

And I have more garden stuff sprouting: carrots, collard greens, chard, and more varieties of lettuce.

This0is0fine

My Dad passed 11 months after Dday. It really helped me see the change in my W. She was selfless in helping my Mom and Dad when he was on hospice. She spent countless hours with them, cooking, cleaning, and giving meds, running errands. She did more for them than me or my siblings.

It really softened the blow of losing my Dad and then having 1 year Dday antiversary. Sorry to get off track but it reminded me of how thankful I am for her at that time.

That is a really grace-filled and beautiful post about your wife, Tanner. I do think that things like that are a measure of a person’s values and commitment to a relationship. I’m glad she was there for you in that time.

My husband comes through in those ways and always has. It’s something I am also grateful for, and something that helped me intuitively and consciously choose reconciliation.

I posted an update not long ago that I believe my Wife’s behavior during the year of affairs was not who she really is, I’ve known her 33 years and she has always been a sweet caring selfless person, with the exception of a terrible year, she is a great person.

So about a year after d-day my husband’s coworker invited him on an all expense paid guided hunting trip. My husband accepted after speaking to me, and was super excited about it. It was a dream of his to do something like this. However, the days leading up to the trip I was not in a great place. My husband asked if I didn’t want him to go, I told him he still should (I meant that) but he ultimately decided to tell his buddy he needed to stay home with his family. He never complained. Never made me feel guilty.

Here we are now, a little over a year later, and my husband was given the opportunity once again to go on an all expense paid hunting trip. We are in a much better place, and I’m actually really happy for him that he gets to do this after choosing not to for me last year. I guess my thankful Thursday is to say… I’m thankful to be at this place where I can be happy for him. Where I can look at him and think "he deserves this" without it being sinister 😂

We survived the weather system that blew through last night...Thank You God grin !! That HORRIBLE weather made way for a BEAUTIFUL day today smile . Isn't it amazing how after a storm everything can be made beautiful again?! One more reason to be THANKFUL!!

The end of this month marks one more month before A season starts for me...May 11th. After 7 years of A seasons...WE have racked up some pretty AMAZING times of our own to combat those 68 days of the A season smile . Last year I went through the google timeline like I had done almost every year during A season. Only...instead of going through it from 2014...when my H had his A...I went through 2015...when WE were together smile . That HELPED me to remember the GOOD triggers from the memories WE made that combated the BAD triggers from the year before smile . THIS year...I think I will go through it for every year SINCE 2014 grin . I am so THANKFUL for the google timeline now...that shows what WE did during those 68 days grin .

However...TODAY...I am thankful that my H truly treasures me smile . He makes it a point to let me know how much he appreciates the things I do to make our house a HOME. He also thanks me for the things I do for HIM. He used to expect it...but now he realizes I can...and DID...stop it at any time. I do these things because I WANT to...and he is so thankful that I do. ME too smile .

Ahhhhh...another Thankful Thursday...Thank You God smile !!! I didn't see any other posts from last Thankful Thursday...so I HOPE it was because so many of you were out ENJOYING your Thankful Thursday instead of sitting home writing about it laugh !!!

The weather is gorgeous over here...and I have my garden almost ready to plant my vegetables next week...Holy Week smile . I can't imagine what Jesus was thinking at this point...KNOWING that in a week he would go through some of the cruelest things ever imaginable...especially betrayal...by ALL of his apostles crying .

I am so THANKFUL that I don't know how MY time on this earth will end smile . Every day that I wake up next to my H is a THANKFUL day!! We get to start and end our days together...which is something that not every married couple can do...especially down here where working on the offshore rigs is still prevalent. When the pandemic hit...these workers were having to stay in quarantine hotels for several days before being able to go offshore...leaving even more time away from their families.

There is so much evil in this world...pictures showing up on TV...social media...just cruelty everywhere. But when I am in my H's arms...there is PEACE smile . When I look at all of the flowers and trees blooming...there is HOPE! And when I see the gorgeous sunsets...I often say there is NO better artist than God grin !! THIS is what I am THANKFUL for today...PEACE...HOPE...GOD smile .
