shakentocore, thanks. I never knew that. Will correct it from now on. Am presuming that the pronunciation stays the same?

Yes. Both are pronounced the same way.

It is criminal for just one man to have this much happiness.

I love you, bro. You deserve every bit of it!

So happy for you!

😁. Congrats. All the best.

Geesh - I have to follow you around in all kinds of forums. Look at you all NB and everything.

So I've been thinking about you all week...thinking lots of things actually...all over the map...

But the one that has stuck with me was a post you made many moons ago about lamenting the loss of your future/retirement plans. I think there was an actual walk involved and gazing at the type of home you had planned to buy in your golden years with your Ex and how you thought all of that would go. As per usual, it was very descriptive. Very visual.

And I think I responded with something like all of that was kind of a fantasy anyway..that you know...of course there are no guarantees of anything. And things change on a dime and jobs are lost and people well...they sometimes get sick or have health issues. And I sort of challenged you to rewrite your own narrative in your head. That you had the power to change the loop that kept playing over and over.

And perhaps you could paint some broad logistical brushstrokes for your future (I'd like to retire by such and such and age, etc.). But to try and let the world open up to you and become the decider in your own life with a series of moments that would create real joy (you know - the shit that is really important when it comes down to it). In whatever way they revealed themselves. And that it might not look anything like the script you thought you were going to follow.

And well..yeah. Look at you.

Look at what you've done in the past year alone. Look at everything you've savored. Places. Moments with your children. MMS. Sunshine. Vistas. All those senses a'working - you've tasted and touched and all that grooviness.

And you are engaged. You are at yet another brand new jumping off point. And really, as wordy and rambling as this post is - I'm actually having a difficult time finding the right words to express myself. So I shall repeat what I said over in the standby D/S forum. Just. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

Oh for,

Chili just stole everything I was about to say !

I. Am. Just. So. Happy. For. You.

A new beginning! A new beginning post!!

Your journey, thus far, has captured many of us here. I am one of many to wish happiness, love and experiences going forth.

Oh for, congratulations 🎉

Wow Chili, you do have a good memory.

That was a long time ago. Still in my JFO thread I think. It was the day that XWW moved onto the estate where we had bought the property with the intention of moving into it for our dream retirement.

It hit me hard. As you said, I experienced it as XWW having not only robbed me of my past, my happy marriage and my whole family, but then also all the dreams of my future.

Would you believe it, who did I turn to to unburden my grief at this loss? Well yes, it was my, at the time, "just coffee buddy". Who could ever have guessed then, that she would turn out to be my Fiancee (thanks shaken ). It was also the first time that MMS met DD. And look how that has developed.

And then the advice you gave me was so spot on. If I didn't know better I would have thought that you had some influence over the script of my life. Is there any wonder as to why I nominated you as sage of D/S. Might now have to add NB to the title.

Greeneyesbluezy you have also been a constant and caring confident throughout my journey, and have given such wise counsel. You know, I still feel so guilty, along with many in SI, for letting you down on your thread on advice to give a daughter just before the wedding, while we enthusiastically participated in so much other meaningless stuff. But you have been so gracious in offering me pardon for that offense.

fareast thank you. It means a lot to me coming from you. I respect you and some of the other BH's like Oldwounds. I stand in awe of you. Not only do you usually offer wise and gentle support, your words also clearly communicate a depth of love and grace towards your WW's that I can't fathom but can only marvel at. I am always pleased that SI offers support on all options chosen.

In my opening post to this tread I mentioned how I wish that there were some way for me to share even just a little of my elation. Well, I think that there is a little something that might go some way to that. Over the weekend, a link was forwarded to me showing what Keukenhof looks like this year. Each year the theme of the garden is different. This year it is "Flower Power", with 60's props and themes all over the place. Many in the know also agree with me that the weather this year has contributed to making this "always spectacular" garden even better this year.

The video in the link was shot just a day or 2 after our visit. In it you will also see what I was speaking about in terms of the glorious spring weather that the park is enjoying.

I have been give mod permission to post it.

It is LONG, but even then it does not cover all of the park and you need it so long to even begin to get a sense of just how an immersive experience it is. My suggestion is find some time where you can unwind a little. Best viewed on a high def big screen if possible. Turn the soundtrack down. Put on your favourite classical or instrumental music and sit down and allow it to transport you.

And then think that we were actually there

Approved Link

Apparently this is a new way to post approved links on SI. I hope I did it right. If not, let me know and I will ask the Mods for help.

A sincere thanks to SCARLETT,northeasternarea, Booyah, and destroyed, you folk truly have walked this journey with me. One of my favourite movies is "Shall we dance". In it the PI who the wife had hired on suspicion that her hubby was having an affair (He wasn't, for any for whom that reference might be triggering), says to the wife, "sometimes we just want someone to be a witness to our life". You all have been that to me.

ohfor,

I only just last night noticed your post but didn't get a chance to fully read it.

I am so happy for you both!!

Your posts have been such a bright light in this place that can be so god-awful. I find myself lately getting mad at the universe for being so unfair as to have person such as you befallen of such challenging health burdens. But then I am thankful that you have such love in your life.

Congrats x 1 million!

I rarely come on these days, but I do like to check on you guys who have in a strange way become friends, or in your case, my adopted South African Uncle. I'm gladdened to hear of this further developed happiness (it's not new found happiness, you've found it a while back and have been cultivating it in such an amazing way).

I don't know when I will see your next post, but I hope you keep posting and keep showing us how to rebuild our lives into something new.

Like the lotus, I feel like you've really bloomed out of mud and reached the surface!

What a beautiful place. All those languages spoken.

I hope some of those people actually make prints of their photos. We, of the digital age, forget that these phone pictures could be lost.

Thanks for sharing, ohfor. I love your adventures.

That's wonderful news. I've been expecting this for a while. What took you so long?

I will never forget what Ponus wrote about you in my JFO thread

Yeah man, I read that at the time and I remember well what the great Ponus18 wrote, it also made me laugh hahaha :-)

Did you ever imagine in your wildest dreams that you would write something expressing sincere thanks to an individual whose words helped change your life, and his name is babypuke? - Ponus18

So glad to hear this happy news! Ain't life grand?!

So happy for you! Love the Netherlands! The gardens are breathtaking! I can suggest a few other gardens to walk through in the US if you come for a honeymoon trip. Anybody can grow flowers. But can they grow Hoodoos? Google the Queens Garden Bryce Canyon sometime.
