And this reminds me of one of the strange ironies of being a dues-paid freeloading club member here on SI...

It actually gets me back to that schadenfreude thing we were kicking around earlier...

I was more depressed before I read about how depressing air travel and humanity in general has gotten, and so now for some reason I actually managed a laugh and a bit of humor at a fellow infidelity sufferer regarding the seeming inconsistency of her pessimistic sounding post versus her positive minded tagline.

it's just not that easy to find a safe place where I can buddy up with others to hate the world in anymore...

especially for the end result to come out kind of laughing and feeling like I suddenly hate the world just a little less INSTEAD.

Some part of me just really loves you guys and gals on here.

By the way, if I ever "sense the presence" of NTV on a plane.... Or even one of his little "Santa's Little helpers" skunk-double, wannabe, stand-ins... I think I'm going to run my own safety drill with those pull-down oxygen masks they offer that nobody ever uses.

That would make for a unique and more Disney approved version of a horror film alternative to "Snakes on a Plane", however. You could even have people upchucking, blowing chunks, and regurgitating all kinds of putrescence and Nickelodeon green slime and every other manner and viscosity of disgusting aqueous projectiles . I suppose we could even put leg pus guy on there, and even give it a kind of Greyhound bus in the sky theme for evac-ing the behaviorally challenged from third world mental institutions into mainstream schools for a kind of student exchange integration cultural experiment.

...Or perhaps no one reading this has ever ridden a Greyhound bus before?

...instead Ceph's and NTV's latest posts reminded me of a thread I've thought about starting. Something like "What's Your SI Specialty?"

Here, I'll start off from the top of my head with a couple people from this thread:

1. NTV = duh

2. Ceph = elaborate simile and metaphor weaver

3. Sisoon = resident statistics professor

4. Tushy = way more than your average ass nurse

5. Greenzy = big O giver

6. BearlyB = emoji aficionado (although Chili can't seem to translate any of them. Reference pig nose = squid).

7. Phoenix = a race to see which one of us can post the exact same shit first.

8. Chili = a proud and active member of the thread-killers club.

Hmmm.... I'm not sure how my si specialty ends up the first one on this list.

I'm assuming that its farts. That's a good guess, right? It's like I've been backing myself into a fart corner recently and should talk a little more often about floor-pooping communication techniques.

But I don't know that this ranking list you got here chili should necessarily elevate my fart related contributions higher than any others. After all farts rise naturally on their own.

Or maybe this is a listing based on obviousness of type of contribution? That probably makes more sense.

Now that think about it more it's most definitely obviousness based.

I was worried for a little bit that you were valuing farts as much as I do, and that would require some kind of competition. Something like the earlier poetry one but likely with a requirement that the poem topic must he how much you love farts.

Not that I'm opposed to fartlove poetry but rather I would hate to have others try to estimate my fart value system based upon my poetry skills.

That would stink, for me.

Apparently yesterday DD decided to actually be polite and NOT fart while we were at the doctor's.

That meant that the ride home, all two and a half hours of it, was spent with her letting them rip and me opening the windows... This kid has baaaad gas!

Fyi - just want you to know, dragon heart, that even if you kill this thread, if you do so with a fart related post I am still victorious.

Good thing we can't smell posts hahaha. My DD would give you a run for your money.

Wow Ceph, holy I have no idea what you typed. You brain is on fire and mine is not.

NTV I thought about you this am. Did you know in the -“1600s that the medical doctors had a theory that flatulence jars would protect you from the bubonic plague. You basically put your stinkiest of farts in these flatulence jars and when you thought you had been exposed to the bubonic plague you open a jar and inhale. The plague was thought to be in the air so if you smelled worse air aka fart infused oxygen then you would not get sick.

This is your opportunity to bottle and sell your high quality farts.

Talk about bragging rights.

That was actually my great great great great great great.... great great grandpappy's practical joke on his second cousin's asshole friend that started that whole business. We have a family artifact journal detailing the plan, the 2 chicken bribe to the doctor, that started the whole mess and how it spiraled out of control.

I wouldn't label that a date night, Ceph. More like an inquisition. I've done my share of inquisitions. If R is your intent and goal I think you have to move beyond this. If it isn't your goal then you need to get beyond this so you can be healthy so you can have a new, healthy relationship with someone else.

Easy for me to say. I've separated from my WW. I don't know what I would be like if still living with her. Actually, that's an lie. I would be doing inquisitions.

Sometime we need to get past that for our own health and well being. If it continues to eat at us we will continue to be devoured by it. That doesn't, IMO, mean it won't rear it's ugly head from time to time and require some discussion. It means, to me, that the effect or impact is minimal and it doesn't take much to clear it away. That is where both are fully and energetically committed to R and the WS (FWS) is completely remorseful and has empathetically put up with the crap to get to a place where real R can take place.
