Ithought we killed the thread with raw fish. Now we are onto high spiders...Interesting lol

Whoever thought it was a good idea to study how spiders react to being on drugs.....Needs to get OFF the drugs themselves! Poor spiders!

Looks like I killed it this time. Was hoping to open it up to some sewing jokes or for some knitters.

Alas I failed.

Edited to add that fart jokes and octoscrotums seem to rule lol

Because we were challenged, ripped. And none of us is gonna turn down a Thread-Off. Not when there's a title involved.

For my first point I would like to point out that the knitting and sewing skills of those spiders of yours featured very heavily in what made that whole thing as funny as it was!

And secondly it may therefore be that the very mention of knitting and sewing is evidence of spider mockumentary traction in action... But only in a more insidious, spidiferous fashion than is normally so subtly expressed on here.

Thirdly, what should be discussed on a "thread" if not spiders and knitting and sewing?

Consequently, what better "thread killer" can there possibly be besides a spider or a knitter or a tailor??

And so we go from serial killers to Octopuses to spiders to knitters to threadkillers all competing for the title while trying to weave a tangled web on the worldwide web while trying kill the thread by keeping it alive.

Consequently, I think your spiders got a lot more traction than you realize... After all, they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery.

And I've had that mockumentary stuck in my head ever since you shared it, but I can't share it with the children because of the final joke they crack at the end. (even though that last one was the cherry on top.)

I think part of what made the last crack of that thing even funnier for me, was that one of my favorite Aesop's fables is the one of the lazy grasshopper and the diligent ants and how the ants take the grasshopper in for the winter but make him work to pull his weight to teach him a life-lesson or two as well as justifying the room and board they give him. Somehow Aesop's original version didn't leave such a lasting mark of just exactly how low you can go before you "hit bottom" by either capping off at other people's bottoms, or else being pretty much spanked and owned by the one that goes around doing such things...

Which kind of gives new meaning to the term "hitting bottom", don't you think?

Thanks DragonHeart!

On second thought Tallgirl, maybe I should just repackage Aesop's fables in my own children's book "remix" series on values and virtues for the 21st century family.

Something tells me kids might actually listen and remember a respun Aesop's "moral of the story" style of storytelling that's basically a graphic novel set to gangsta rap themes with cold blooded murderous bug-characterizations instead of ancient Greek work ethic related ones that feature more responsible minded non violent/non-socipathic types of bugs instead.

And did you notice how there's also a subtle common thread with in this thread regarding one manner of creature eating one another? Even the "F you" pie as originally depicted on DragonHeart's thread by another well-wishing poster looked like a bloody mess, since it was a cherry pie and not an apple one.

Maybe I will name my lead character spider of that children's book series "Cannibal"... Or "Hannah Belle"... I think I'll stick with Hannah Belle, because with the dramatic irony of a female Home Ec winning thread spinning & killing Black Widow/Charolette's Web/man-eating-zombieish homemaker Drew Barrymore seems popular enough with the kids in a timeless kind of way.

Oh, and she's got to have a meth/crack lab business going on in cahoots with her quilting bee sorority sisters that helps her find politically correct (drug dealer) victims for her and her gal pals to prey on and profit from.

And maybe weave some Miss Manners Emily Post style etiquette training in with some of those stories... You know?... Like okay Mr. Drug dealer it's okay for you to cap a bad customer in the back of the head when his back is turned or to conveniently mix lethal drugs inside what you're selling... but always use please and thank you when addressing him verbally... And never let any cats around his food or the drugs that you are preparing for him... After all cleanliness is next to godliness you know. And punctuality is of the utmost importance when you have an appointment to assasinate an impolite person.

Maybe instead of the Ancient Greek "Aeosop's Fables" I could call it "ASAP's Foibles" for Tweens and Ancient Geeks... just maybe don't tell that Breaking Bad guy that I kinda called him an "ancient geek", okay?
