If they weren't balls what would they be? Still really glad I didn't eat them.
Admittedly, had a hard time eating the Octopus, it looked so "real". Had to put on my tallgirl kick ass boots and just do it.
What is the most "gross" food you have eaten? I had chicken's feet, ugh, so disgusting.
My girlfriend ate bugs (flies I think). hahaha paid for them too.

I have eaten Octopus and I don't recall balls....I'll go look up their anatomy now because I'm curious.
Gross food? Well I wouldn't call anything gross. I'm not a fan of mushrooms. Taste and texture aren't pleasing to me however if I need to or they are served to me as a guest I'll eat them.
Food is good and while I'm more like the rat on Ratatouille, I would try most things once. I love savouring my food. Taking time to enjoy each bite. Experimenting with flavours. Mmmmm

I just realized one of the reasons I love SI.
Sitting here like a bystander listening to two girls discus octopus balls reminds me of being back in my almost-all-girl high School back in the mid-to-late eighties.
It's funny because so many of us Menz on here get all hung up about Size Matters and sexual performance issues and their self-esteem gets all in a tizzy about what the women are saying and thinking about them and other men's genetalia and bedroom functions behind closed doors...
But from my own experience being around girls as a peer rather than a predator (or much of a prospect even!), They would just as soon talk in the girl's locker room or "powder room" about how to properly pronounce and spell the plural name of something with multiple monstrous appendages (rather than say a single word about the appendages themselves) and discuss the questionable existence of testicles as comestibles in marine biology... Than to discuss the appendages of and biology of any particular Navy Marine!
(And earlier I was fussing about how to spell names of predatory otherworldly-ish creatures myself!
Oh crap! I'm not sure I'm proud of where this is heading... )

Ok so male octopuses reproductive organs is on his third leg. They do have testes but they are inside. They also have multiple hearts.
When I had octopus it was just pegs, no body but now I have to wonder if I ate the penis leg....Yuck!

No, you just EAT them instead!
I'm just kidding there but still...
My point was more about what ladies don't likely discuss instead of what y'all actually DO talk about. But of course, I'm not typically in any ladies' rooms up there in Candyland it down here either, sooooo when's the last time you (DH) or Tallgirl discussed the virtues of HUMAN male genetalia instead of those of Octopuses?
(Wait... Did I even spell/say that right? Male genetalia on "octopuses"...! Cuz it SURE doesn't SOUND "right" or look right to me when I see it on print or picture format!)

Octopuses don't have "balls" like mammals do. But interesting fact, or so I have read, a male octopus can tear off his penis and throw it at the female, then grow a new one. The ultimate F you I guess.
When I had octopus it was just pegs, no body but now I have to wonder if I ate the penis leg....Yuck!
This reminds me of that special "F you" apple pie you were gonna make for your husband! Remember that?
But is it... many Octopuses or Octopie? Hahahaha.
It's octopuses. That's just fun to say!
Does that mean you just had a taste of Octopie?

Well speaking only for myself, I have never had any "girl talk" that centered around the male genitals. For me personally that one eyed snake is the least appealing part of a man's anatomy. I could tcare less its size or girth or anything because I simply don't find IT appealing/interesting.
The geneitals of octopuses is more so.
Oh hell the fact that male ducks have cork screw genitals is really cool.
Our 11th wedding anniversary is tomorrow. I might just have to bake him an F you apple pie lol

Maybe you could fashion one of those third leg peg penile octopus's tentacles into a piping container to squeeze all of the contents through for the pie.
That or just slice and dice and grind it up along with some octopus balls to give it that extra "F you" zing.
Alternatively, I think if you peel the skin of the Apple just right you can make squirrely little metaphorical "screw you" decorative (or should I say, "duckorative") curly q corkscrews with to sit on top!

Darn, I was really hoping I could convince the world that octoscrotums was a word. My plan began with trying to get someone else to repeat it.
<sigh>
Alas! I have failed again!
Back to the drawing board. Maybe a sketch will work better...

Well all I can say is that the reproductive system of Octopuses certainly gives new meaning to and an unbelievable mental picture of a headache.
I am now somewhat concerned about the number of octoscrotums I have eaten.
I double checked, octoscrotums is not in the urban dictionary but I think it deserves a place.
Soooo I had to look up duck penises. Totally cork screw looking. Looks like a wine opener. (Yah, that may never be the same now for me, I will laugh my head off every time I have wine). Did you know male ducks can grow new cork screws? Any size they feel is needed. How cool is that? But, at some point they have to lose the old one, Wikipedia didn't say how that happened, likely something to do with the female pissed off duck.
Wikipedia had a picture of an elephant's penis. Put that octoscrotum and Octopus'es penis leg in the nano category.

They oughta use that graphic in one of those motivational or demotivational posters.
"Not tonight, Dear, I already have a headache."
And other much tackier thoughts come to mind...
As for that reminder about ducks literally screwing, I'll never look at Scrooge McDuck (Donald Duck's Uncle I think) the same way again.

Ceph, it is also my experience that most women don't discuss male sex organs. They discuss how fit or handsome, his hair or eyes or smile. Someone who makes an effort or who is kind gets lots of praise. It is mostly men who fix on male reproductive issues.
Beautiful octopus. They enjoy so many magnificent things. Their soft design and freedom of motion. Ability to collapse into small spaces, to glide freely through the water. Intelligence to problem solve. Freedom to change their color. They are so beautiful. Why bother to eat them at all. Let's just enjoy them in the sea and be glad they are there.
Thank you everyone for your wisdom and healing.

I'll try anything (food) once and it was a part of a mixed dish so I thought why not. Actually octopus grow to maturity quickly and have alot of babies so....You could feed the world much better with them than say chickens of beef.
I have read, however, that if an octopus in a zoo required surgery they have to use anesthesia.
If I could have one as a pet I would.
