I wavered between here and F&G for this topic. Mods, if you see fit to move it, you won’t hurt my feelings.

I have a rotten cold. Not COVID—I’ve tested myself every other day. Just a miserable, rotten cold. Daddy used to make a hot toddy with honey, lemon juice and bourbon. I discovered a variation that I’ve named a Honey Badger.

Equal, or roughly equal parts honey, lemon juice and tequila. Mix together in a coffee mug and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds or so.

Drink until you don’t give a F*ck.

You might not feel better but you won’t care. 😂😂😂

Oh sorry to hear you are under the weather.

I loved Hot Toddys. I think thats where my preferred hard liquo drinking started actually lol although i prefer whiskey over bourbon.

Sorry you're sick.

My doc has said that only 2 substances work on coughs - codeine and alcohol. He recommends liquor mixed with honey. I use scotch. I wouldn't dream of heating it, since that can burn off the alcohol. You'll get to the not caring stage faster.... smile

(Actually, I sometimes get a very persistent cough, and he'll prescribe an inhaler for that.)

I saw a video some years back for "cough sweets". Sugar, water, lemon juice, honey, ginger, ground cloves cooked on the stove until its like a dark syrup. Spoon drops onto parchment paper to cool then sprinkle in icing sugar so they dont stick to eachother.

They actually worked on a sore throat and cough.

We pulled out the honey, lemon and whiskey for the last week. Sorry you don’t feel well.

I’m feeling great after a flu shot last week and my second shingles shot on Tuesday…but I’m a smooth tequila fan! May need to sub lime and not heat the tequila to try this.

Hope you feel better!
