So glad to hear your daughter found a new puppy to love! My neighbor's dog just had to be put down this weekend :(. He was about 11yrs old and a sweet guy. I think I'm going to bring them cookies or something. They have 2 other dogs, but that doesn't make up for the loss.

Got to walk my dog today. It's in the 50's and not going to rain for a few days, so I'm all set to enjoy it.

This little guy is SO cute but I told my daughter to enjoy the cuteness now as they are really not "pretty' dogs when they grow up. laugh She said he's learned his name and when she calls him, he comes running as fast as his little 2 inch legs will carry him.

Pyrenees, aren't they huge???

I remember in that movie Beethoven, the St. Bernard shook his head and drool went EVERYWHERE!

I'm glad my poodle just tracks mud in... and shits in my backseat! Ugh, that was sooooooooo gross. Was crunched on time picking up the kids after that one, so we all rode home with the windows down and the poop smell in the car. EEWWWWWWWWW barf . I cleaned it out, but think I need to hit it with the baking soda and vinegar again. Otherwise, the entire car's upholstery is clean now, so that's a plus. laugh

Mlgander, I hope for your sake they weren't fabric seats. Oh my!!!

Bulldog puppies are so adorable!!!! I hope your DD is enjoying him, Jeannie.

Speaking of poop smells, the farmers just spread manure in the fields around my house. Windows closed!!! Anyone else have to live through this?

I hope everyone in the path of these storms is safe!!

My sons husky puppy keeps pooping and peeing in the house. She is 7 months. WTF. She can’t consistently go 4 hours. Is it behaviour? Spite? Or physical.

It is making me crazy.

Just did it again. Massive poop in the middle of the family room. She just got in from outside.

Is she crate trained?

Maybe put her in thr crate when she's comes in from outside.

Could be many things I guess.
Anxiety, medical, behavioral, lazy.

Is it in thr same spot in thr house or anywhere?

Hah! Sounds like someone just wants another person to do their clean-up.

Our cousins had a clever idea- use drain tile (with plastic sheeting over it) as the bumpers for the rink. I think they put rocks inside to weight it down. Come spring and the defrost, they can drag it to a corner of their yard and stow it that way (they have 8 acres).

Crate training the husky sounds like a good idea. They don't like to poop in their own den, so if you keep him in there between outside runs, maybe he'll get the point?

Also, I heard squirting with water or dropping a tin can full of nails (loud noise) is a good way to condition them against pooping inside. Thing is, you have to catch them in the act.

We used to drag our dog (growing up) over to the pile when it was fresh, push her nose down and yell NO at her when she did that. House trained her pretty quickly.

When no one lets our dog out, or she's really stressed, she knows to poop in the basement on the cement. Still gross, but at least she's considerate. rolleyes

Huskies are tricky- they're pack dogs and test boundaries to see who's the alpha. If they decide THEY'RE the alpha, they'll walk all over you. My aunt used to have malamutes who are similar to huskies. She somehow was attracted to the alpha dogs and wondered why she couldn't train hers. laugh

Jeanie, I wasn’t sure if it was over near you. I know it hit Kingston and Lake Texoma area. Our cousin text tree was put in place. Then they had that horrible accident in Tishomingo happened.

I meant to write precious gift, about your DD pup. I remember that breed as being passing enough gas to go on a road trip.

My head is on weddings.

Yesterday, spend time undoing some reservations for a destination wedding as DD changed her mind. She wants it to be one the west coast on her favorite childhood beach with a total of 15 people and our favorite Mexican restaurant. She says have a family barbecue for all our family on the weekend and a few friends at one of my cousins. They are adamant on 2 things the date is Halloween and her Grandpa is there. She called and asked him if he would come and he said if he was up to it. He is not a healthy 91. She told him if he wasn’t she would go get married on the sidewalk outside his condo so he could be there. She told she would like him to wear his light blue bucket hat…lol lots of crying. I keep thinking how many times is she going to change her mind. She asked me if I would call my cousin and ask him to BBQ and smoke ribs for the BBQ for the family friend party on the weekend, if I went and got the meat and fish. My cousin learned to BBQ, smoke meats and fish from my Dad aka Pa.

Hi, the husky has crate time every afternoon. This morning she pooped minutes after finishing a walk outside. My son caught her mid crunch, so hopefully that helps.

Could be an alpha thing, she had been getting better, but seems to be reverting to early days.

Open to all suggestions.

Catching her in the act should help. Did he immediately take her outside when he saw her starting to go?

She should be crated or attached to someone until she is completely trained.

My DD and her boyfriend did not do this with their puppy and it took forever to house train him. Every time they potty inside it is a setback. I still don't trust their dog 100% and he is three.

Somebody here recommended keeping my puppy in his crate or on a leash with me at all times. I also kept him on a schedule. Sleep, out for potty. Eat, out for potty. We had a big celebration when he went and came right back in so he got the idea why he was outside. It was very time consuming and a huge pain in the neck but worked very well with no accidents.

It's also important that everyone is consistent. Some breeds generally take longer than others. Are huskies known to be difficul?

I read up to 7 months on a couple of sites. We have been consistent.

She is up at 6,30 to 6.45 followed by
Pee, poo
Breakfast followed by
Pee,poo
Park play for 30 mins
In the kitchen for the morning by 7.50am
Pee btn 10.45 to 11.15. Trying to stretch her to 12. Not great success so far.
Walk from 12 to 12.40
Crate 12.40 to 4.30 / 5pm
Walk
Dinner at 6
Walk before bed
Crate at 9

Her energy level is on the increase, she is very active, in the evenings we have playtime and she wrestles with our other dog.

Is there something we are doing that is crossing signals?

I don't know. Looks like a pretty good schedule from what I can tell.

Looks like you are getting her out after sleeping and eating.

Mine took a good six months then all of the sudden he just started asking to go out. I thought it was never going to happen. I feel for you. It's A pain when you have to watch them all the time.

Tush has a lot of experience with dogs and might be able to give you some good advice.

Been thinking just how random and deep my kids thoughts are, particularly Big D.

Yesterday we went to a dinosaur display. They loved it!

On the way Big D says:

D: Hey mom?
Me: yes D
D: If God created two people, how did the world get full of lots of people? Two people cant make everyone. Did he just spawn 1000 more people?

(He actually used thr word SPAWN!!!)

Me: ummm how about we ask Baba, she knows everything.

D: ok can we go talk to her now?

Seriously he is 7 years old and asking about the origin of humans...needless to say I was caught off guard lol

At the same time Little M is listening to the radio and picking up every song that comes in within the first few words and just singing her heart out.

Then theres DS who I asked to put the box of crackers away from the kitchen counter. I even pointed right to them....and he's staring at the floor lmao

Oh and what are "teenager clothes"? DD has asked me to take her shopping for Teenager clothes. She won't give me a description...lol.

This girl child of mine even told me she wants a butt job to have a bum like mine so she can twerk better... rolleyes OMG!!!

Squats. Lots and lots of squats. Thats how you get a nice booty... or so I have been told by the internet🤣

Teen clothes... I sent that question out to the gals in my daughters grade (she is 10 now!!). They said shein app, Nordstrom Rack amd LandsEnd for basics. I looked and Nordstrom had good stuff.

Good grief theres a lot of hideous clothing out there. Shapeless, drab and poorly made. Look at me being judgy, but hell people, cant you comb your hair and put on some pants before going out???

Oh, and get off my lawn!! laugh duh

Dd doesn't need to do squats lol. She has the perfect body! Ok small sure but figure wise I am so jealous! Her thighs don't touch at all. Her butt is round and full and she has a better looking chest than I do.

If I accomplish nothing else in this world I am ok with that. I created beautiful children.

Lol

Oh another thing on my mind:

Why the Hell are change rooms at ultrasound offices the size if broom closets AND what the hell is the point of a full length mirror??? I'm taking clothes off NOT trying them on. And no one wants to see themselves In an open back gown...geez!!! I've got other complaints about that experience but I'll refrain from sharing lol

Ok grin

The change room door broke while I was changing. So of course some random guy shows up to fix it...opens the door and bam got more of an eye full than he bargained for laugh

Had to drink a liter of water because ya know lets torture woman for a simple ultrasound. My bladder is the size of a grape. I had to pee before they even called me after 2 dips if coffee! So go to the bathroom after the first half of the ultrasound and lock the door....but it didn't lock and someone else walked right in...fml!

And lastly why can't they get ALL if the information they need FROM THE OUTSIDE????? I've had plenty of internal ultrasounds but dammit this one hurt like a bugger! She also said oh look you had a c section. Actually 3 what's your point. She says you have alot of scar tissue...joy.

This is day 20 with aunt fucking flow. She can fuck right off! You'd think after this heavy a flow for this long I would have bled out by now....

Ya ya sorry people TMI. blush
