Checking in again...

How is everyone???

SMY - thought of you when I purchased some gummy worms for my husband,...to compliment his pain meds when they don't get the job done! I was scared the whole way home that I would be put under the jail.

(I'm a goodie twoshoes). Never wrote that before...is that the right spelling?

Anyway --- how is everyone out there?????

somanyyears posted 5/7/2020 20:55 PM

..we're good here..but far from 'back to normal'

Yes, Gummy Worms.. I should try some of the 'edibles' at our pot shops. I'll bet the Gummy Worms are a bit hard to light though!?

Stay safe everyone..

Still in rural southern MO, working from the camper, and fishing when not working. Heading back home this weekend.
H has a fever this am though. He had a tough evening, after having a fish fry for dinner, he had an upset tummy, and now today low grade fever. Fingers crossed just a tummy bug, and not the Rona.

Taking him home though probably tomorrow afternoon, so if he is sick, he has real healthcare available.

WhatsRight posted 5/8/2020 12:02 PM

Oh gosh, Tush!

Prayers that he is OK.

Please keep us updated!!!

Sending strength and mojo to your H tn.....

I'm all good, finishing up the online courses and very glad it's all done.

All 3 DSs in good shape, and I'm just hoping it stays that way. UK, Netherlands and my country all behaving sensibly with respect to lockdown rules, and I am grateful for that. Easing lockdown before the infections/deaths are decreasing seems crazy to me.

As long as the SCIENTIFIC information isn't changing, it makes most sense to stay inside as much as possible.

Our county has been hit hard. We are up to 1/125 positives per capita. We live in an area with several small towns, a lot of rural living and one major shopping hub (if 45,000 people can be considered major). On the rate occasion I have to go to ‘town’, it looks like it would any other day. Tons of traffic, full parking lots. Even in the grocery store in my small town, the parking lot is always full and less than 10% of patrons wear masks. Many are shopping with entire families. My husband is essential and travels twice each day to the only county in our state with higher per capita rates than ours. The kids and I mostly stay home. Every Saturday we do go on an outdoor adventure - thankfully there are lots of unincorporated spaces within a half hour drive. We seldom encounter more than one other family on these outings and are careful to keep more than 6 feet.
Allergy season is in full swing and three out of five of us are feeling the full impact of itchy eyes, sneezes and drippy noses - which is only an issue due to lack of Kleenex.

How is the hubby feeling this morning???

tushnurse posted 5/9/2020 20:06 PM

Strangely he woke up today and felt fine.
I hope he just had some other bug and no big deal cause if he has the Rona I will kost certainly get it from him as we were on top of each other the past 2 weeks in our camper. And of course on top of each other in bed. Lol.
Thanks for your concern all.

DragnHeart posted 5/9/2020 20:10 PM

And of course on top of each other in bed. Lol

I was checking in hoping you had updated because i was worried about your husband And you and reading that ^^^^^^^ I laughed so hard I peed myself. Just a little. Joy's of getting old...

Geez lmao

Jeaniegirl posted 5/9/2020 22:28 PM

Still upright but have to say I think it's starting to affect people mentally. My sister and I went riding today, getting OUT. It wasn't a joy ride as we went to the cemetery to put roses on our Mom's grave. Our first Mother's Day without her. No one at the cemetery so that was safe. We couldn't believe how all the stores were open and people mixing around without masks. While we had our masks, we didn't get out of the car except the cemetery.

I'm trying to stay positive but it sure is looking bad.

WhatsRight posted 5/9/2020 23:24 PM

How sweet to honor your mom in that way. It's really hard the first year.

Jeaniegirl posted 5/10/2020 01:27 AM

Whatsright, it sure is hard. The roses are from her own rose bush, which she loved. We didn't want to chance buying anything in stores. I miss her more than I thought I would. It's been 9 months but seems like yesterday.

Realizing how we took so many things for granted -- like just having the ability to load up the car and take off cross country - or visit family in the next state over.

We just have to wake up everyday, be as safe as possible and try to keep positive.

WhatsRight posted 5/11/2020 08:24 AM

Have you picked up the phone yet to call and tell her something that happened? It's been almost 5 years for me, but I did that just the other day.

Or, be wondering about something and think to yourself, "Mom will know."?

I just keep telling myself that missing them so much is a sweet remembrance of how lucky we were to have had them!

Otherwise, my Mother's Day went OK.

Jerkwad H said "Happy Mother's Day" in the middle of a fight...I think he thought he should get it in before he forgot.

My oldest lives with me, so he was here. He did say the words. He's not much for mush.

My youngest texted that he loved me SO much and thanks for everything I do for him. And sent me pics of my 2 month old grandson.

And even the middle son who just moved out in a huff, texted to say "Happy Mother's Day" with a little "love ya" in there!!!

Not bad for a 65 year old obese female!

How is everyone feeling this new Monday morning???

[This message edited by WhatsRight at 8:25 AM, May 11th (Monday)]

DragnHeart posted 5/11/2020 09:09 AM

Well so far it's a mixed Monday.

Woke up with really bad head pain. Tylenol is working to dull it.

It's good that wh is at work. I wont need bail money lol

Kids all being royal pain in the ass so....since they got lazy and threw garbage in with the recycling i have tasked them to go sort it all out.

Once I get motivated enough to get dressed I need to set up the broader for the ducklings and baby turkeys that are coming.

I have a huge list I need to do but this head pain. Omg i just want to crawl under the covers and hide all day.

musiclovingmom posted 5/11/2020 12:41 PM

Since we started “distance learning”, I have dubbed Monday as “meltdown Monday”. So far, today is breaking that cycle. We are on schedule for everything and even today’s chore didn’t take hours and screams and tears like normal. Overall, my spirits seem higher today despite the cloudy weather. I’m not sure why, but I’m not going to question it too much 😂

Jeaniegirl posted 5/19/2020 17:10 PM

Checking in. I got sick Sunday with bronchitis like symptoms, could barely breathe and coughing. I had a bad day yesterday so I just went to Urgent Care. I do have bronchitis and got a steroid shot as well as antibiotics. They decided to do a Covid19 test but said they were fairly certain it would be negative since I've had no temperature. That test is NOT pleasant so it's a good thing it's quick. It's been 1.5 hours and the steroid shot is already working magic and I feel much better.

DragnHeart posted 5/19/2020 17:58 PM

The on off headache thing isn't letting up and it's more on than off. Have had alot of pain in my right temple, ear, face, jaw, teeth. All right side. So bad that morphine pills haven't touched it and I haven't slept well the last few days at least.

Read that temple pain is usually stress related. Yes I'm stressed. Trying to not be but im failing.

Announced today that school will not be resuming this year. That's fine. But trying to get these kids to sit and do work is a royal pain. I need a vacation.

musiclovingmom posted 5/19/2020 18:24 PM

Oh Jeaniegirl! Bummer you’re sick but hoping it’s not COVID! Our county is up to 1 positive for every 90 people as of yesterday. There was a big rally last week on Thursday and the same group has organized another for this week. They’re paying for business to be allowed to open and pushing back against the governor’s order to wear masks in public places. The neighboring county is up to 1 positive for every 37 people. I have to drive through there on Saturday. Twice. And the only reputable place to get fuel is there, so two stops with kids. I would just scrap the whole thing, but, legally I have to take my daughter to her dad and flying from here requires a minimum of an hour drive one way anyway. We have masks and sanitizer and my kids have had the safety talk a bajillion times, so we are as prepared as we can be.

WhatsRight posted 5/19/2020 18:43 PM

DragnHeart, I hope this isn't true for you, but morphine GIVES me a migraine.

When I was in the hospital a couple of years ago, with diverticulitis, my belly was really killing me. So they were giving me morphine in my I.V.

But when I got a migraine, they said, "Oh, yeah, some people get a migraine from morphine.

So...no pain help at all.

Have you ever noticed that morphine gives you a headache? If so, maybe some other type of pain meds would be better for you.

WhatsRight posted 5/19/2020 18:47 PM

We are still fine here, except...……..

I have put my foot down, and told my H's doctor that morally, I could no longer continue to give my H all of the opioids I am giving him.

I told him it was time to taper him off. My H "agreed", so there is a plan. Might take as long as 4-5 months --- depending on how it goes. I have procured some special gummy worms to help in the tough times.

But at least we will be going in the right direction.

Of course, I may be sent to jail, but I'm thinking...they will feed me, I will have no work to do, and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be a draw in the shower.

Pray for both of us. (But for me a little more!)
