So this is SO's first Valentine's day in 10 years. I kind of wanted to make it a little special. I won't be able to see her on the 14th (she has to work) but she will be staying Saturday and Sunday. We are planning on going out to dinner one of those nights but I wanted to make her something food wise that is a little Valentiney. <------ not an actual word.

We both try to eat healthy so I'd prefer something on the healthy side but it doesn't have to be. I can usually tweak a recipe to make it a little more healthy.

Any ideas?

Go to Skinnytaste website she has some ideas. I would do fruits and a yogurt dip too. There is a really yummy healthy gluten free almond cake on her site if you bake. It can be made in a heart pan. Its so good with fresh strawberries. There is a salad with strawberries, chicken, and feta that looks "valentine" like with the strawberries too. She has lots of ideas.

Chocolate comes from a plant so it practically counts as a salad. Just saying.

I've always been a fan of angel food cake with fresh fruit and cool whip - pretty guilt free.

So this is SO's first Valentine's day in 10 years.

Wait - what.....how did I miss this!?!?!!

Fresh cut fruit for dessert - yummo. Paired with yummy dips (that can be made healthy-version ways).

Do you have a grill? Kabobs are always a hit because you can make them with all your favorites and put a light marinade on them.

This is making me hungry!

I second this. I've also made several things from the Skinny Taste website. She has really good recipes!

I met her on Match about 3.5 months ago. I contacted her within a few days of both of us signing up. I lucked out big time. She was the one and only online date I went on. I was dreading having to go on multiple bad first dates. I really lucked out with her. I'll have to post an official update. I'm very happy.

I will definitely check out Skinny taste. Thank you.

There are some really good paleo chocolate cake recipes on the internet. Lobster and fish are healthy. You can make some roasted veggies, zucchini noodles with just about anything.
