Before you can install any spyware on iPhones (most likely iPads as well), you need to jailbreak the phone - this is completely reversible.

I haven't seen this posted here really, so I thought I'd share. If you have access to a Gmail account, you can check their search history even if you don't have the Google Toolbar installed.
Log on to the account, go to igoogle.com, click on My Account (in the upper right corner). In the right column is the Google search history. If it's not enabled, you can enable it, there is no notification sent to the account. - Holly-Isis

I just wanted to add that the recorder I posted about has undergone some updates. Newer models (it still looks the same and pretty much operates the same) can record over 100 hours and runtime is 12 hours plus. Now, if I could just find a battery that would last a few days...
