Have you ever noticed that morphine gives you a headache? If so, maybe some other type of pain meds would be better for you.

I've tried pretty much everything. Only thing I have in the house now is Alieve and Tylenol. Two extra strength Tylenols seem to help but man it upsets my stomach if I take without food (which is hard because I already feel like throwing up). And yes I take the meds as soon as I get the aura or feeling that a migraine is coming. But this pain has been different last few days. No aura and temple all right side pain. I thought maybe my sinuses were starting up again because of the pain in all of my teeth on the right side but theres no pressure where it usually is when they do flare up.

I haven't been keeping as hydrated as usual. Just dont feel like eating or drinking much all day. I dont think that's helping at all.

The CBD vape juice worked wonders when I used that. No high effect at all but the pain relief was amazing. To bad its beyond expensive.

Dragn, about those headaches. I'm a person who NEVER gets headaches and now I've had one for over a week. Pounding in top of my head. I asked the doctor about it today at Urgent Care and she says so many people are complaining with headaches and she definitely thinks it's stress. And gawd knows YOU have enough stress -- so that could be it.

Maybe you need to set aside ONE HOUR for yourself each day and walk -- even to back of your property and sit 'quietly' and not think about work that needs to be done.

Whatsright, I meant to respond to you about our Moms. I haven't picked up the phone to call my Mom because she lived with me for years but I do catch myself going down the hall to her bedroom, to ask her something or tell her something. And my Mom could find ANYTHING that was misplaced so I miss that. Also, she had one of everything in her room -- so if I needed needle and thread, she had it. Pens and note paper, she had it. I'm not finished going through her stuff yet -- I just had it moved to an empty bedroom for now.

She donated money every month to St. Judes and also to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, so I've continued that in her name. She kept journals and those are so important to family history so I will preserve those.

Lastly, she was not afraid of snakes and hated them and would get rid of them for me. I have such a fear of snakes. I really wished for her three days ago when an unwanted visitor showed up in my hall -- a fat brown snake. I screamed so loud it scared the snake and he went fast back into my utility room, where I blocked him in. I called my sister (she inherited snake execution style from our mom) and she came over to find that thing. We are guessing my scream scared him (or her) so much it went out the way it got in. So sister looked everywhere and thought he might have squeezed in by a pipe connected to hot water tank. She plugged it. If Mom were still her she would have been in on 'the hunt.'

For the very first time I'm glad she's not here during this pandemic. She would worry SO much and want everyone in one place, under one roof. She was that way.

musiclovingmom - thank you for the good wishes.

I am much better. Between the hot/cold changing weather and also mowing over three acres, I got congested. This morning I could barely breathe and that was really scary so I decided I had to get checked. As far as I know, we don't have 'instant' tests here, just regular covid19 tests so results come back within a week. Maybe they use the instant tests in the hospital but I just went to Urgent Care. But I'm certain I don't have the virus, just bronchitis combined with mowing and possibly some alergies. I'm already breathing much better, thank goodness!!

I cannot imagine what the people with Covid19 are going through, the horror of not being able to breathe is a REAL horror. One of my high school classmates got pneumonia and was in ICU and then she tested positive for Covid19 and they sent her from hospital to rehab nursing home. She's now on the vent. We have one main hospital set up for Covid patients and I understand it's full - so they are releasing to rehab or nursing homes -- or back home if they aren't critical.

Horrible times. Sad times.

My principal announced her retirement yesterday. Then, the CDC school re-opening Phase 1 guidelines hit social media and my community lost their collective minds. I cried real tears for the first time since mid-March yesterday afternoon. I spent most of today in live webinars or watching recordings of some other recent ones about the safety (or not) of singing and how to adapt music instruction to a number of possibilities for school in the fall. I registered for another webinar series the first week of June. Trying to focus on what I can control - specifically how I adapt to the information being released. Information is my ‘safe place’. It’s the thing that makes me feel like I have control over something. Now, I just have to remember that I don’t have to prove I’m right to everyone 😂

Jeaniegirl... It is so crazy that you said that about your mother and snakes.

I really like snakes. As the third (and final) daughter, I was the son my father never had. I helped him with tools and he taught me how to shoot his gun, and I would help him drowned a rat if we found one in the basement.

Also, we would go down to the creek in the backyard and find snakes. He would hand them to me and show me how to hold the head. I was never afraid.

Once, when my mother was going to spank me, I chased her around the house with a snake until she promised not to whip me.

But I guess that’s a story for another thread. 😳

Whatsright, that's a funny story. Had I done that, I wouldn't be here posting today. Mom really feared snakes and she passed that on to me. There is just something OBSCENE about coming into my house and seeing a huge snake slithering down my hall like he owns the place. I still haven't found him and I just KNOW he's in that utility room, probably hiding behind the washer or dryer. I really hate going in there! I bang on the door, cautiously open it, run in and get clothes out of dryer and run out!

Well, trust me… When I finally put that snake down, my mother whipped the shit out of me… And I deserved it! Ha ha

I hope you find your visitor, and send him on his way! If I were anywhere near you, I’d come and get it for you. And I’m sure Dragonheart is like the snake whisperer and would do the same.

Cool Mom memories, tho, right?

In the losses I have experienced in my life, I responded a little bit differently to them… After, of course, the initial heartbreaking sadness.

I choose to find ways to remember them every single day. For example, my dad was military, and so I always write the date 24 May 2020 - military time. So every time I write the date, I get to think of my dad.

I listen to classical music every Sunday morning so I can “be with” my sister… In spirit.

My brother-in-law‘s favorite number was 23, so if I am wanting the volume on my TV anywhere near the level of the number 23, that’s where I set it… Just to get to remember him.

And there are more ways to remember my mother than I can even count!

I'd come find it.

My parents arent into reptiles. But they were nice enough to take me to a reptile expo where I had arranged to pick up my geckos. My parents actually came in and my mom began to browse the tables. She came to get me because she saw a snake and I just had to see it. It was albino. Bright yellow with red eyes. She'd never seen a yellow snake. Thought it was pretty cool, as long as it was nicely locked in its cage lol

That was a few years before I met wh. Little did we know that we attended all the same expos....some he actually had a table there as a vender.

I bought wh a hognose snake. Still a baby. These snakes are rear fanged. They also can mimic a cobra in flaring out the skin around their neck OR more often when threatened play dead. Yes in the most dramatic show of I'm dying that a snake ever could display. They roll over onto their back and will stick out their tongue. It's funny.

I got a sore throat and cough a couple of days ago but its gone now. I'm pretty sure it was because I had mowed my and my sister's yards. Pollen.

I hope everyone is still safe and well.

I’m asking now in light of not only COVID 19, but all the civil unrest all over.

I for one have had a couple of fearful nights.

Criminal officers of the law. Running around being sure doors are locked. Protests downtown. Police helicopters flying over my neighborhood. Shots heard in the direction of the university.

Even trying to raise a biracial son with the knowledge / understanding of how his life will be “different” from his brothers, I have never personally know fear in my own home till the past 2 nights.

And then I think about how there are so many who spend their whole life afraid in their own homes.

Yesterday sucked for me because I had to put my sweet dog Daisy down. And it just got worse when all the trouble started.

And I am concerned for the increase in this health concern.

Sorry for the ramble.

I’m going to try my best to have a better day today, and I wish the best for all of you!

I live in a small, mostly rural town. When we “go to town” we mean the city of about 45,000 ten miles down the road. The closest city is almost 200 miles away. Tonight, there is a protest organized in town. The event post of Facebook specifically says the organizers “wish to remain anonymous” - which is concerning. Businesses that opened today for the first time in over a month are closing early tonight. Business owners are sharing that they will be inside their businesses and be armed. There are a LOT of guns in this county - A LOT. The city police and the county sheriffs have shared that they will be on site. If I knew it was going to be only locals, I wouldn’t be worried about it turning violent. We’ve had two protests in the previous month due to people who disagree with how the governor is handling the pandemic - so I know we CAN protest peacefully. But, the big city had vandalism and fires last night and there are reports the people involved with that are on their way here. My husband is working and will be driving through the protest area after dark. I haven’t slept well for two nights and expect I won’t tonight either.

So, we haven’t checked in in a while…

How is everybody doing out there? I live in one of the states that is headed in the wrong direction as far as Covid cases and deaths. This mess is still very much alive, so I thought we could check in.

We are two days short of one month in to tapering my husband off of opioids. To tell the truth, it is not as horrible as I had feared. This week we lower his amount of oxycodone… So we’ll see.

But still blessed to be Covid free!

Take a second and let us know how you’re doing.

We have entered stage two of opening back up in my area.

My parents and brothers were still in an area in stage one.

Despite that we were finally able to see them as the limit of people had been increased....but...

Apparently one of my brothers was exposed to someone who worked with someone who tested positive for covid and the company didn't inform the other employees right away.

So....theres a chance my brother and his friend may have it and worse that my parents might.

They are all self quarantining. And I believe they will go get tested.

Here my head is spinning with getting the kids online with their teachers and all the school work done. I had multiple calls and emails yesterday with teachers. I'm having intense vivid bad dreams so I'm not sleeping well. I always seem to have a headache.

But on a happy note my farmer friend popped by with a Billy goat for my girl. He has BLUE eyes and is black and white and really calm for a intact male.

My state is going in the wrong direction too, with much higher numbers for positive tests. Yet we are in the final stages of opening so by Friday, everything is OPEN. Too soon, I think.

I'm still being very cautious. I just get food when I have to and that's not often since it's just me here. Pet food is another story so I'm thinking about ordering that online for a while.

Got a call this morning that one of my parent's closest friends had passed from Covid19. He was older with underlying health issues. The saddest I've heard about is our town's former basketball coach .... his young daughter in law died of Covid19 and she was only 33 and has three children under age 11. So very sad for that family. No underlying health issues for her. The entire family is in quarantine.

I feel we will get a second wave and that is absolutely scary. People are NOT being careful enough in our country. I feel they are 'entitled' and miss their bars and socializing too much to be safe. I think they are playing Russian Roulette with their lives and the lives of others. When I go to the grocery store, I am one of the few wearing a mask.

My daughter, a school administrator, is on the planning committee about reopening of schools. Our schools normally start mid-August. She says she is hearing proposals that are impossible, like having all children wear masks all day long; no school buses and lunches brought from home and eaten at their desks. She is in a poverty area school where parents don't have cars to transport students -- and what is really sad for her, she thinks most of the students normally only get to eat at school - so there is no way lunches could be 'brought from home.' Her suggestion and solution is to home school until after Christmas break and then reassess the situation. I guess we will see how that all turns out.

I saw some video of the casinos in Vegas. Wow.

I'm very lucky to live in Dr Bonnie Henry world, our medical health officer who got a writeup in the NY Times last week. Things are opening up here but since I'm over 65 I'm staying with my isolation / small bubble routine for the foreseeable future. I have yet to order in any food, I like my cooking so that's a good thing.

Would love to see my RMT for a deep tissue massage but not quite ready to go there just yet, wearing a mask and all...

Had a chat with one of my Irish cousins on Sunday. His brother in London is a nurse and he's on Week 10 with serious lung complications, just barely able to work a half day per week at the moment.

He's a big strapping 50-something father of two, and the Beast took him down hard along with another family friend, an older woman who survived weeks in the hospital. Ireland apparently has amazing after-care and rehab services so she'll be ok.

The care home staff in Dublin have been so diligent with the precautions (staying away from their families since March) that my elderly auntie has stayed safe the whole time. Today is her birthday and she gets to see the grandkids!

I have a lot of respect for this thing and it's maddening to see people not taking it seriously.

Crazy in this state with the big rally today. Thousands and thousands of people and not wearing masks for the most part. Recipe for disaster.

My nephew still in ICU from the car accident and no one allowed to visit due to Covid19. My sister and BIL finally got to 'see' him yesterday afternoon on ZOOM. He's not coherent at all and confused and crying. So hard to have someone in the hospital and can't see or touch them.
