The Norwegian female beach handball team was fined for wearing shorts instead of their uniform tiny bikini bottoms.

I can't believe they make them wear those skimpy bathing suits. Meanwhile the men get to wear shorts and a tank top.

Pink offered to pay their fines!!!

I just caught the tail end of that news report. I didn't know what uniforms they were referring to.

I love Pink. Shes awesome!

The fines are ridiculous and sexist. I hate womans and girls clothes! Nothing like sexualizing a fucking pre teen with the short shorts.

And ya i know there's those that say woman/girls should be able to wear what they want but still. Why can't a girl wear normal shorts like boys get to wear without ridicule, harrassment, being called a Tom boy or being FINED...???????

..can the 'uniforms'????? get any skimpier????

I've seen thongs on the beach in Jamaica that covered more.

I'm just tired of seeing all the high 5ing and butt slapping and hugging and kissing and on and on... after every point is scored. I'm surprised that the coach doesn't run out on the sand and make the celebration a threesome. Won't be watching anymore volleyball.

Let's get to the boxing and running venues already. More amazing than the athletics are the views of Tokyo presented by the network. Do cities really look like that???

WOW....make that a double WOW..

SMY, yes agree about the celebrating after every point. The team volleyball is the worst. The whole gang has to high five and hug every single point.

The US Womens volleyball team the other day was unwatchable because of the hugs with every point.

Gross. You are all sweaty, and sandy, and you want another person to touch you? No Thank YOU!!!!

The fines are insane. Unless it is giving them advantage in the game, by being able to perform better then it shouldn't matter.

Love love love to watch the water polo, swimming, and on and on and on. I got zero done over the weekend because I was watching it all.

I love the olympics, love the fanfare, the teamwork, the camaraderie between the athletes. I don't mind the butt slapping. I mean, I can remember "playing" volleyball in HS. I sucked big time. I get celebrating a single point.

But that story about the team that wanted to wear shorts infuriated me. If it's about the sport, why penalize a choice of uniform that affects no part of performance?

I won't watch this year.

Love love love to watch the water polo, swimming, and on and on and on.

Water polo is really intense! I think it's one of the most physically demanding sports out there. For those who don't know, women often wear the equivalent of two suits - it's to minimize pain from the aggression that happens under the water where cameras can't see. The aggression? It's called a titty twist, and is exactly what it sounds like. I'm sure the men have their own version, but yea, it can be a painful sport to play. I have the upmost respect for people who can play that game.

#4 - I got to play it in college, and loved it. It is a blast. Tough game, and yes you have to be the definition of strong swimmer to play.

Yes to the 2 suits for sure
