Why on earth is a pop up ad for Ashley Madison showing up as I'm reading a thread? The LAST place I should see "Life is short have an affair" is here.
Is there something on my end because there have been a lot of pop up ads but this was just too much.
Thanks.

If you keep asking people to give you the benefit of the doubt, they will eventually start to doubt your benefit.

Was it a banner? Or did you see it in a specific thread?

Not a popup-ad but a picture inserted by the poster. It’s relevant to his post talking about infidelity being marketed and being made “normal”.

2c, the add was used to demonstrate a point. Read the post.

I have noticed that if you hang around infidelity-sites, occasionally go to (possibly) male-oriented sites about fishing, golf, tools and engine spare-parts then Google’s market analysist get a testosterone overflow and starts showing ads for Russian brides…

In the thread with the subject "Could infidelity be normal?" on the "General" forum, WornDown posted an image of an advertisement for Ashley Madison. The ad contained Ashley Madison's phrase "Live is short. Have an affair." WornDown was making an interesting point about the way that Ashley Madison uses advertising to promote affairs.

I specifically saw a banner ad for AM this morning. Not in the thread being referenced. I actually started a thread about it earlier today.

I have reported these sightings to the ad network. It would be helpful if you would please tell us if it was either a horizontal ad being displayed along the top of the page, one of the side-by-side ads that are embedded at the bottom of first post on a thread, or the footer ads that appear below the page content.

I don’t know if I am going to explain myself well, but I’ll try. When I am not logged in and I am viewing a thread, the first post of the thread has an add after it. That is where I saw it this morning I do believe. Make sense?

Sorry for the delay, been running around.
It was in the thread questioning if infidelity is normal. On Worndowns comment. I guess it was posted, but it was too triggering and immediately jumped off thread thinking it was an ad. Pop up ads have been increasing though. I notice it happens more when I am reading without signing in.
They pop up and partially cover a thread when they do.
Sorry for any confusion but seeing an Ashley Madison ad HERE just was too much. Even if put there satirically. No place for that crap here. We know it exists, and don't need to be reminded of it. At least I know I don't.
Sorry guys!
