I heard that in Canada, all the women are faithful.

So you know it's a made up place.

Cephastion posted 11/26/2018 22:01 PM

No, WAL, you've got Mrs Claus figured all wrong. She actually is the faithful type. Particularly since there are no other men up there for her to choose from.

But now as to her husband, well now... That's another matter altogether, I fear. So flighty and elusive and narcissistic and vain...

I thought Canada was the 51st State? Which would explain the Californiacation of half of the state’s population in the “province” of Ontario?

My kids call it North Mexico.

stayedforthekids posted 12/4/2018 13:07 PM

18-ish years ago, as part of my job, I had to travel to Windsor every month or so. I thought the place was great, the streets were ridiculously clean, friendly people, lots of pizza places, decent beer, cuban cigars, and "interesting" strip clubs . Besides freezing my Texan ass off, it was an awesome place.

Went primarily to a fuel tank blow molding manufacturer Kautex. The whole company was full of immigrants, folks from Korea, Vietnam, various South American countries, Hungary, Russia, Germany, everywhere but Canada. Very few native Canadians worked there. Seemed like the whole town was that way too. I always thought that was odd.

Anyway, I went back a few years ago and the automotive downturn made Windsor a complete shithole - it was completely different from years ago. It really is north Mexico now. I wonder how the whole legal weed thing will play out there.

From Ann Arbor, in the late '60s, we used Windsor as a source for Chinese goods, especially foodstuffs. It was great smuggling 100 lbs of spring roll skins into the US.

numb&dumb posted 12/5/2018 14:25 PM

Oh I live "near" Canada most of my life. Been to only Ontario. Toronto is like New York city except friendlier.

Niagara Falls is like vegas except smaller with a whole lot more water . ..

"interesting" strip clubs

Now that I mentioned it. I have driven past dozens of them. What makes them interesting aside that most of them are located near massage places. Forgive my naivete, but why are they "interesting" ?

stayedforthekids posted 12/5/2018 17:17 PM

n&d, the strippers do the full monty, meaning completely naked. Unlike the U.S., they either don't have, or don't enforce, the "no touch" rule.

The worst thing (IMO anyway), is how you tip a completely naked woman. You roll up a $2 Canadian bill, place it in your mouth, and lay backwards on the stage. The lady then stands over you, squats on your face, and grabs the money with her crotch. Lap dances are done completely naked too. There was typically a downstairs champagne room but I never made the trip down the stairs so I can't say for certain if there was or wasn't sex happening down there.

Strip clubs aren't my cup of tea, but unfortunately I spent a bit of time in them at coworker and client requests.

steadychevy posted 12/6/2018 06:52 AM

I have proof that some of the women in the mystical "Canada" are not faithful. Given the proof from some of the posters here the deception is working. They do think there is a Canada, eh. I'm holding on to the supposition that Canada exists (and the earth is flat).

Has not been thing for many years either. I was just curious as it seems like the per capita ratio is much higher in Canada than the US. I always wondered why. I chalked it up to me visiting tourist type of places. Any thanks for enlightening me.

Notthevictem posted 12/7/2018 05:05 AM

Of course the strip clubs are better in an imaginary country.... womens tits probably average out as 32% perkier too. I mean its like you guys aren't even trying with your cult sales pitch anymore.

That's 'Xi'. 60 years ago it was spelled 'Hsi' (not 'Shi'). It sounds like 'Ji' when spoken by a non-speaker of Chinese.

In the early-mid '70s, China announced prostitution no longer existed in China, though there were still some women who sold sex.

Very confusing....

Canada?

You mean Northern Montana...?

Ascendant posted 12/11/2018 18:57 PM

At the risk of spoiling the ending:
Whenever a WW talks about "communication problems" in the marriage, what she really means is that her BH didn't do what she told him most (all?) of the time. With maybe a touch of "he didn't read my mind so he'd know what to do, and then do it".

Read it any other way, and the plot never makes sense.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

sisoon posted 12/12/2018 12:04 PM

Not always. There's a lot of stuff I have agreed to tell my W that I forget to tell her - stuff that is very reasonable for her to want to hear.

I don't know how common that is, but I'm sure I'm not alone.

Well gents, I am back from my annual winter vacation. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it was a total disaster, but it was as close as can be.

The list of things that didn't go wrong would be shorter..... Apparently sometime during the night between day 1 and 2, the backplate on my BC (That's the thing that holds your tank on) snapped in half. Of its own volition. While it was in my locker in the gear room. Which I found out about after getting on the boat and being a half mile offshore. Fortunately a crew member i've known for years and years came up with a spare BC stashed below deck. My video camera quit working on that dive. On the next, my dive buddy's mask snapped in half underwater. On the evening of day two the cold that I felt coming on but was trying to ignore hit full force and I was benched for the next three days, during which time I was afraid to go pee for fear that if I touched it, it was gonna fall off given my run of luck so far.

Which was apparently a valid concern, as it seems the universe wasn't done kicking me in the crotch, so to speak. Saturday (last day before heading to the airport at 4am) I felt good enough to go hang out at the pool and get some sun seeing as it was our last afternoon. Where I promptly slipped on the steps in the pool and sprained my ankle.

I was a little concerned Saturday that my United app wouldn't give me my boarding passes. Said they'd be available at the airport. Yep you guessed it. As a parting shot, the dreaded "SSSS". I was "randomly", once again, for the God knows how many-eth time, selected for a complimentary bag un-packing and cavity probe at the airport.

At least I can say that the weather was nicer, warmer, and sunnier, with a lot less snow. And I did make it our of Chicago without getting plowed into or any of the folks who felt a need to drive inside my trunk actually doing so.

There were apparently more crises at work that week than the proceeding three months combined and I still have a stack of reports to write about them for the board meeting next week. Sigh.... I always say next time i'm just not gonna come back.....

steadychevy posted 12/20/2018 17:22 PM

Sounds like a fun time, tbkjcn. Just another week in paradise. Hope things go better for you the remainder of the year and wayyy into the new year.
