I know we all joke about cold play from time to time but Yall

My husband came home today from getting us lunch. (Our 3 year old son just fished up his 4th surgery) we’ve all been in our feelings and he shocks me with what he said.

He asked me if I read about the band Coldplay calling out a couple that had dodged the "kiss cam" at one of their concerts. Well I didn’t because I steer clear of all news and social media but I decided to look it up. My h told me how much respect he had for this lead singer for calling it out and standing his ground and for calling it like he saw it.

I read it and it turns out the "couple" on the kiss cam wasn’t actually a couple but a CEO having an affair with his hr lady.

So sad it happened to that family but so glad he was outed. I listened to their album on the way to the store. 💕

Good for them, I feel like it’s a little victory as well as a huge step for my marriage and for my H.

Just wanted to share.

Agree. If SI had awards, the ColdPlay singer should be nominated for one.

I have a newfound respect for him.

And, while I'm not a news or current events type person - I am gleefully enjoying the brutality of their discovery all the while praying for the wife and kids that were sacrificed at the alter of a cheap thrill. I hope they all are working with a crisis counselor or have an apt in the works.

As for the cheating couple - they didn't get hit by the Karma Bus - they got hit by a whole caravan of Karma Busses.

ETA - I hope that all cheater's sphincters shrunk just a little over this.

I hate Coldplay for many reasons but mostly their soulless corporate corny music. Let's not forget their lead singer is a serial cheat himself.

I definitely did not know that was the case, but I guess people can change, right that’s why we’re all here? Maybe we all don’t think that our spouses can change but we’re all looking for sense of healing or a sense of satisfaction of karma. Maybe after everything that he’s been through he recognizes how toxic he was? We really don’t know but all I can say is I’m proud of him for that moment.

I don’t know him well enough to speak on anything or defend him, but I can’t say from experience people can change.

I have not heard of the lead singer Chris Martin being a cheat, are you sure you don’t have him mixed up with someone else?

Anyway- to me the most ironic thing is if they had given no reaction, it would never have gone viral. The fact they tried to hide is what outed them. If they had played it off Noone would have thought it was interesting. Just another bad instinct from people who cheat.

I find it interesting that the woman behind them with the big smile is a fellow coworker- just promoted by the HR head. So there were others in on the cheating at the office. Another reason we caution about letting a WS continue to work at the same company as the AP. The toxic environment there condoned this behavior from their c-suite. Disgusting.

H/O I said the same thing.
What’s the percentage his wife would see it? I’m assuming pretty slim? Like they would have gotten away with it if not … glad they didn’t.

Also I haven’t heard of him being a serial cheater either but I’m so exhausted mentally I have no energy to argue , I found no truth behind it but I’ve been wrong before.

I just find great

1. They got caught
2. My H and I are being able to talk about infidelity for what it is and not be triggered. After two years of healing, I think it says a lot.

Upon googling this, I would retract my statement on Chris Martin, whilst maintaing his music has been trash since he attempted to rip off radiohead with a rush of blood to the head (which was half decent) but it appears the cheating rumours were actually dispelled by Gwyneth Paltrow herself. If the wife he was rumoured to have cheated on his happy enough to say the rumours are nonsense, that's proof enough for me to take it back.

Apologies Chris, start listening to Radiohead again and you might eek out another half decent album grin

You did name your daughter Apple though... Perhaps a lesser crime against humanity

Hahah.

I am def not here to debate music. They aren’t my style. I prefer metal , 80s ballads and good ol rock and roll. I will admit they have a few catchy tunes. laugh

I won’t admit it many places lol

It's all fine and dandy admitting that with the comfort of the anonymity of the internet. To be honest, my sister did drag me along many years ago and I must admit - they do put on a hell of a show. Earplugs would have helped though.

I came across a clip recently where Chris Martin was sharing that he had some mental health struggles. Then giving a list of things he had found which helped. It seemed aimed at young fans. It was short, very specific and real. I was pretty impressed by that simple thing. As far as I can judge, I like him. I had a mind to listen to Coldplay. I recall they started out busking. I can’t think of many bands that can hold a candle to Radiohead, but I respect Chris Martin.

Now why doesn't that surprise me? Of course, that's how he knew, in just a few seconds, what was up with those two.

It takes a quick search to find out that the accusations of him being a cheater were false… as the original responder already posted.
