Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.

I am so torn about what I am doing while doing ansoft 180. I am trying to focus on my studies (short term goal of a career certification) the most now and just detaching myself a little from WH ( I am preparing myself for a D bit haven’t decided anything as yet). WH tries to message and then expresses hurt when I don’t respond soon-ish to his messages or tries to kiss me (and I let him) and feels hurt over my not responding. I don’t have any words to express to him what it is I am doing and then I get confused about my own reasons for doing these things.

You don't have to like your boundaries. You just have to set and enforce them.
