The link that was posted earlier keeps going down. Not sure if that's because it's swamped with traffic or why.

But I'm curious about something. Whether or not it was moral for the Impact team to dump the data or not, I'm curious is it illegal? I just read that there is a $500,000 reward for information leading up to the arrest of the persons involved in the hack. Does that mean the police are investigating this? And is it illegal for the public to grab that data and manipulate it? I wouldn't have the foggiest idea how to even do that, I'm just curious if the fallout from all of this could spread that far.

I'm not going to let this define me anymore. He's gone and I couldn't be happier.

You couldn't have told me in July and December of 2006, but there really is a life after this mess.

Breathe, just breathe.

I have to agree with the topic of the suicides - everything needs to be considered before putting anything identifiable on the internet.

I am sorry for the families of those who did commit suicide - it is not their fault but the internet can be a dangerous place and people just don't think about that.

Jrazz I 100% agree with the quote you posted from that blogger. Cheaters got caught and didn't want to face the music. They were in no way innocent "victims" of a hacking.

are we sure they were the cheaters and not the heartbroken ones that were cheated on? People could react that way too? I hope they would not but who knows?

Someone I (used to?) greatly respect is on the detailed listing with a verified email address.

Profile was created in 2005 and last updated in 2011, so he was (has been) on there a long time.

There is no credit card info however. No date of charges - nothing.

So, while it appears he did in fact sign up and at least perused it for years, he probably did NOT hook up because he would have had to pay something in order to communicate with anyone on the site - is that about the long and short of it?

I guess there would also be some betrayed spouses who went on the site after being cheated on. But strictly that would still be cheating, even if they started out as the betrayed ones. Anyhow, my gut feeling is that the vast majority of outed AM users were married cheaters. And IMHO they deserve every bit of the pain. But who knows.

A news report was released that 2 suicides are confirmed due to the AM leak. A 3rd possible suicide is a police captain that shot himself in the head. Now there is a huge investigation and a $500,000 reward to catch the hackers. They are blaming all this on t hackers saying they ruined families, spouses and are hurting kids because of this leak!!! Really?!

Infidelity is considered a crime in the military...

So isnt this considered exposing a crime as well???

This is true. I found some people I know listed with their full names as paying credit card users and I'm totally disgusted because I searched their email address posted and found them on other porn/sex dating sites while married. These sites they had more info and photos of themselves, so I'm really sick. They probably thought that email would never be revealed anywhere. Of course.

It makes me so mad to hear that 'the suicides were caused by the AM hack' - total nonsense from where I see it! Those cheaters were adults who chose to sign up at a cheater website. Cowards and moral low lives. Now they are exposed and they are taking yet another time the cowardly route and kill themselves instead of taking responsibility for their dirty deeds. Or maybe they finally had to look at themselves in the mirror? Definitely it was not the hack, it was their own behavior and lack of responsibility for their own actions!!!

I read somewhere that users who used paypal did not have their credit card info stored with AM and therefore no CC info in the leak. I'm not sure if WH used paypal or not for AM and he doesn't remember. But he did and does use paypal, so it's very likely especilally since his CC info is not included with his info in the dump. So this lends validity to the paypal thing at least in our case.

He did buy and use credits. I know because a few weeks ago when he admitted to me that he had been on AM years ago I went and tried username and password combos until I got into his account. I saw everything and they have the record of how and when he used his credits, and which other user it was with, though the actual messages that were sent are no longer available.

The only thing the dump told me that I didn't know was that the last profile update was in 2011. I checked to see if he was included in the dump and if his real name and CC info was there, they aren't. But not because he didn't buy credits and use the site, because he did.

Has anyone seen a list by state? Someone on Facebook said they have seen a list of AM members parsed out by state. It gave home addresses and amount they spent on services. Can this be real? I guess anything can be at this point. Such a huge mess.

Thanks, RarityLee,

I guess my doctor used paypal.

Now if their email address wasn't verified, but they had a really specific (read odd) email address that is linked to an AM account from the right city, shows the right age etc, then they signed up but couldn't have paid for anything because that added step of verifying the email address would have happened, right?

Of course, yes someone could set someone else up this way, but why would you, unless you knew a leak was imminent?

I've seen some, Amber. Just a couple of states, but the address and the amount spent was listed. I have no idea how accurate the data is because I have no way of checking it. I can PM you the details if you want.

I find the reward money of $375000 US laughable. That's all they could come up with? They took in millions a month and the reward is not even worth a week's income?

I find AM outrage at their hackers interesting. Felt cheated did they? Felt violated maybe? Worried about their future? Maybe multiply their outrage by thousands or millions and they might hear the crying of BS as they find out their lives have been violated by their spouse and a company that promised an A. May the crying of the children affected ring in their ears for all eternity.

I am one of those, and NO it is not cheating. I joined to SEE IF FWH WAS ON THERE. I gave the minimum info, no picture, no money except to delete at the end. (which was a form of highway robbery that we now know meant nothing.) I never answered a single fucking response directed at me. And now my highly identifiable although now closed email address is on there, somehow linked to the junk email I gave to them.

I realize the outside world is going to assume I'm a cheater but it'd be nice to not be judged here. Most of us know the insanity a BS suffers after D-Day. I hope all the info is searchable for free, I'd love for the same nosy people who are searching me and everyone in their zip code to know the entire truth. Apparently it's too much to expect that people would look only for their own spouse or SO and otherwise mind their own business.

p.s. This is NOT directed at TOL and those helping with the technological aspects of searching.

Latebloomer - totally agree with you. It sucks for the people who went on the site to find the truth about their cheating spouses. Hopefully most of you guys used fake emails and names etc. I'm still stunned that the cheaters seemed to have used their real names etc.

I'd like to point out that out of 30 million people there are bound to be 3 suicides. I don't know the numbers but how do they know the AM leak was the ONLY reason the suicides were committed?
