Has anyone ever had a recurring theme in dreams?

I haven't had it happen in a while. Yesterday I laid down for a nap and I had the weirdest dream. This isnt anything new but the constant in every dream is that I try to call for help and my phone doesn't work. I cannot call 911.

Previously it's been dreams of people trespassing, stealing or setting up camp on my property.

Yesterday's dream was about 2 orcas being stranded on one side of my flooded driveway. Yeah so weird. I am NO where near the ocean.

At first I see one orca jump from the flooded ditches to our side. I briefly wake up then doze off. Then I'm dreaming there's a huge truck and crane in my driveway trying to get the now 2 orcas back to the ditch where they can then swim back to open water.

Ok so yeah I'm close to a waterway connected by locks but...again, not someplace you'd find killer whales! The man in the truck asks me to call for more help and no matter how hard I try I cannot connect. DD is there with her her phone and makes the call saying its ok mom I got this.

WTF?!?

Why can't I ever get help?

I know I feel helpless now. That I'm frustrated I get no help around here. That I feel trapped and alone. But these dreams have been happening for years.

Maybe I can change the dream so I'm using a CB radio instead. Easier to put out a 10-200 (police needed) than trying to use my phone.

I do. I have dreams that i am being chased and running away from something bad. My adrenaline is rushing. I end up thinking, im dreaming i can fly away! And i fly away. Then the fear goes and i fly thru the sky, looking down at things and loving the view.

Funny as i hated commercial flights for 42 years. HATED flying. Now i take lessons and love looking down at the scenery. Its very calming and makes me feel amazing. Like those dreams I had. Also, small planes are much closer to the ground than commercial (i guess i knew that before i started flying lessons but it didnt mean much to me). When i fly in dreams, its about the height of a private plane, rather than thru clouds like a commercial.

Gotta you are living my dream if learning to fly. So cool!!!

My dream last night ended when I'm crossing a very tall bridge and somehow fall off. Almost like I walked off of it. Omg I watched the ground getting closer and closer and then woke up.

Don't they say when you have falling dreams and wake up before you hit the ground its because your guardian angel grabs you before you die?

Omg!

I'm the queen of dreams and have had several themes over the years. From the last 9ish years ex-asshat and I were together through a couple years beyond our D, I constantly had dreams he was stalking me and trying to kill me (gee, I wonder why THOSE dreams were happening rolleyes ). They were AWFUL. And after those petered out through today, I dream now and then that he and I are back together in the first house we bought but we're our current ages. In every single one, I freak out, wondering how I got back there, why I chose to be with him again and what happened to my current job and house (which is in a different state than when we were together). There are never any answers. Those are also awful, but in a different way.

I have other themes going on too, but we'd be here for a while if I listed all of them out, too. blush

I used to dream about vampires. I would wake up feeling like something was sitting on my chest and I couldn't breathe.
I used to concurrently be terribly afraid of the dark.

Funny thing but ever since wh left....I no longer have those dreams, feelings, or fears.

What other theme dreams have you had? Yes I wanna know lol

Shehawk

I have had the feeling of being grabbed while in bed. This actually happened to wh once and he jumped up terrified. Not much scares him so to habe him freak out that he felt a hand grab him was startling.

I habe become not so much afraid of thr dark but I feel suddenly claustrophobic when it's pitch black..

I habe resorted to leaving one of the reptile lights on....which if course upsets the reptile. Aldo my sugar gliders like dark so leave a small light on and they complain....by making a ton of noise.

Let's see... there are a few places I constantly dream about, but I've never been to them IRL. One is a neighborhood, just run-of-the-mill tract homes but very clean and everything (houses, landscaping, etc) looks pretty similar. Another is a maze of hallways, stairs and rooms, all in white, that is always an offshoot of whatever place I'm in. I often dream about rummaging through places and things, trying to find answers (my IC calls them "quest" dreams lol). And lastly, this is kind of gross but I sometimes dream about a bathroom - it's a huge area, almost like a locker room feel, with countless sinks, stalls and showers. Sometimes, it's completely gross. Others, it's not too bad.

How's that? laugh

DH, now I am convinced we are actually sisters that were separated at birth or something.

I have had the recurring dreams of water and whales for as long as I can remember. Not specifically orcas, though. Just whales. I'll be on a causeway or just a road that is surrounded by water on both sides that is apparently deep enough for whales to be hanging out.

Another recurring dream is being on a very high bridge that turns into something like a roller coaster track that I am trying to drive a car on without falling off. I've never been a fan of roller coasters or bridges for that reason.

My dear I consider you family! grin

I dont usually dream of whales.

The one dream I had as a child seemed more like a memory.

You know In a dream something is usually off. Dreams I've had when my parents showed up and suddenly the house is full of people, it's MY house but a mirror image of it. Everyrhing is backwards. Or there's stairs where there's no stairs or something that makes me realize it's not real.

This recurring dream as a child, I am with another child and we are both grabbed by adults. Each of us placed in different cars. His car is long and black. We stare at eachother through the back windows as the cars drive away from eachother.

Scary part is I have seen the place where this took place...

I also had many dreams of the walls closing in on me but I had been locked in a small wooden box used for driveway salt at the catholic school and I think those dreams started because of that

I've had three recurring dreams.

Dream 1: I dreamed from about 17-24. I dreamed a specific car accident.

It stopped when the accident happened.

Dream 2: My husband is cheating on me. DH is a recovering SA, but he didn't actually have an affair with anyone.

I had the fun of having that dream off and on a few years into our marriage. By year 4, I was having the dream twice a week. I discovered his addiction in the 5th year of our marriage. Went away for a while during his first recovery stint.

The dream came back a few times when he was slipping/marching towards a full-blown relapse...In the past 5 years he has been sober, again, I've only had the dream once or twice.

Dream 3: I've enrolled in college classes, and even though I'm on probation for a low GPA, I over extend myself and end up failing a bunch of classes. I haven't had that once since I finished up paperwork for my masters.
