Today marks the 79th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor Hawaii.

We lose many of them every day and there are not many left but I tip my hat to the "Greatest Generation".

Definitely! A date to remember. It was also my Grandmother's birthday. I never forget.

I hope many survivors were able to attend virtually this year. The Memorial is so moving. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have seen it.

As a nurse, I can say that these men are the not only the Greatest Generation, they are the toughest men I have ever had the privilege to care for.

Many that served in Europe had a lifetime of nerve damage from trenchfoot, and remains of frostbite damage. Many who served in the pacific fought through bouts of Malaria, and dysentery. Neither are easy things to go through.

These are tough tough men. It is a sad thing that there will be none left within the next 10-15 years. I think we have done a great job as a whole to capture their history and stories though.
