I was talking to a friend of mine at work the other day, and she was telling me about online dating lingo. I'm not taking that route as I'm actively dating someone, but I thought it might be fun to share things that we've learned.
So she told me that "Netflix and chill" means that you're looking to have sex. And I have to tell you, she had some pretty funny stories about how she told everyone that she liked "Netflix and chill" because she likes to binge watch shows and how dates weren't going well since she was getting guys only looking for one thing responding to her profile.
Are there any other phrases that people should be aware of?

This is the biggest one that I know of. My daughters were using the phrase and I had to instruct them what it actually meant. The 12 year old was very squeamish about the conversation.

"Neflix & chill" actually means "Eat your food, drink your good wine/liquor - and have sex"

What's the phrase for actually wanting to watch Netflix and perhaps just chill?

Cheatee - I have no idea what you'd say if you really just wanted to binge on Netflix and hang out. I get the feeling that online dating has it's own language that we'd all have to google. And yikes is right!

Ha, yes, there are definitely some things to be aware of!
1) 'Unicorn': you *need* to be aware that this is code for being willing to participate in a threesome with another couple! I've run across women who have referred to themselves as 'unicorns' simply meaning 'unique,' or have used the unicorn emoji for some reason. Careful with that one!
2) "Honesty is important to me" is often unwitting code for "I've been cheated on in the past."
3) No face picture can often indicate not really separated/divorced.
Certainly not always, but definitely verify!
4) If someone messages you "what are you looking for?" (this often comes from dudes), that's sometimes code for "I'm trying to gauge whether you're up for just sex, but I don't want to come out and say that."
There's probably a ton more that I'm forgetting.
