The Silent Wife

has anyone ever read this book? It was recommended on a different infidelity site. I just finished reading it. Whoa it's a trip. I'm wondering if anyone else can relate to it (involves infidelity in a committed but not married relationship, and a OC) and would be interested in discussing it? Has this novel ever been discussed on this site before? Also I heard rumors it might be in the works to be made into a movie starring Nicole Kidman, any truth to that?

Yes. I read it. A real twisty ending. But the betrayed woman kind of annoyed me. I canít recall why now. Guess I better re-read it.

You may want to post this down in the Book Club forum since, well, it's about books.

Iíve read it twice! I thought the author captured the hollow, disorienting feeling that the shock of your spouse betraying you brings really accurately.

In saying that not one of the characters was likeable!

I read it Christmas Eve 2017...Hereís my goodreads review of it

I am not a connoisseur of the psychological thriller genre; nonetheless, I donít think this book quite fits the definition of it. In a psychological thriller, the characters are exposed to danger on a mental level rather than a physical one. Donít get me wrong! I do believe that infidelity has the ability to test your sanity or at a minimum make you question what you are truly made out; however, this book, while well written, doesnít quite explore the subject in all its devastating magnitude.

Sometimes I trigger over this book because....I read it about a month or so before I discovered my xwh's A. I tend to believe that I decided to read it because on a subconscious level, I knew something was going on behind my back.

It IS a good read though.

I have two other books going....I multi read.....but my limit is two.

I will finish one and then start the Silent Wife.

I have read the book twice. It takes place in England. Two brothers from a dysfunctional family. Each is married. The book really explores keeping secrets, emotional abuse, troubled teenagers, and family dynamics. Itís difficult to put this in any one genre. You see things from the wivesí standpoint and neither tells the other what is going on. I think anyone who has married into a family like this one would certainly learn how not to keep secrets. Itís fiction and I think very well done. There is cheating so be prepared.
