My reaction--there is a karma bus! My heart breaks for those innocent BSes who are going to go through the hell we know is coming, but perhaps some cheaters will go through hell, too, which they so rarely do, imho.

latebloomer & BlueIris,
I think you may be in a perfect position to sue AM and it's investors personally for negligence.

I know that several of the posters here joined to check if their WS was there, but I would bet that about 30,000,000 will use that excuse when their name shows up on the hacking site. WS are nothing if not liars.

It's the first time I've ever cheered over news that a site's been hacked!
On the flip side - I do NOT relish the pain the BS's will have. We may reach that 50K number here faster than November....
Personally, if a BS didn't hack it, a divorce attorney did.....

probably get posted on the dark web also
What is the dark web? Second time in the past four days I have seen it referenced and I have no idea what it means.
ETA: Nevermind, googled "dark web". Got it.

I am glad the site was hacked, it might put a bit of reality into some people's heads about wtf they're doing. Even 1% of 40 million means quite a lot of people
Sadly, I am doubtful the hack will come of anything to the majority of users. I doubt there will be a widespread release of names. And I'm even more doubtful - should that happen - that *most* BSs would even suspect enough to go see if their spouse's name is on that list.

Oh, Lark, I feel a lot of people would read the list to see if they knew "anyone" on the list. Like a neighbor, a boss, a nemesis.

I'm not sure how this will go. AdultFriendFinder was hacked a while back, and I don't think names/emails are listed anywhere someone can get. If the lists only go on the Dark Web, I don't think your everyday internet user will try to access it.
I personally would love to search both sites, but I am not heading into the Dark Web.

Someone I know mentioned it wasn't fair to couples who have open relationships and are swingers because they might not want their lifestyle revealed.
But I'm not sure those couples go to a cheating site for partners. Don't they have their own network of people and clubs for that?

I actually joined to make sure my WH wasn't on there, and had to pay to delete my account. Totally pissed me off, but clever on THEIR part, I admit.
I did the same thing. AM cookies showed up in his computer cache 3 times. So I set up an account making myself way younger and way hotter, to see what would happen. Next thing I know I'm getting emails from strange men, and it grosses me out so bad I can't stand it. I go to delete it and find out I have to pay. Nice. So I went back to my profile and made myself 80 years old and grossly overweight. Then I changed the language to Korean, so even if it shows up in my in-box, I won't be able to see what it says.
So much for my attempts at being a mastermind spy.

I hope they do release the names. I agree with the others about the heartache that will come from that but at least the truth will be known. At that point in time they then can decides what they want to do with there lives instead of having someone be selfish and ruin there lives.
I can only imagine the people that work there. Imagine all the phone calls they are getting now and emails. lol
It just got real.

I agree with latebloomer 45. While those who find out their "loved ones" (gag gag) are serial cheats, they deserve to know the truth.
I don't see how this is a negative thing. The truth needs to come out

Confirmed last week that my WH had both Match.com and Ashley Madison profiles.
Since DDay, he had been getting emails from Match and Ashley Madison and I asked him about it but he told me it was just "spam" and advertising.
Finally, I accepted the fact that you do not get emails unless you have provided your email address. I was able to go in and find his accounts as he uses the same passwords/logins for everything.
Sigh.
Hope everything gets leaked!

This is Fucking FABULOUS! I feel like Christmas came early!
While my heart goes out to the Betrayed Spouses out there who may learn their home life is all a lie, I am so grateful to these Hackers for taking on a company that really deserves it. Live in the truth! You want to have an open marriage? Have at it!---- but have the balls to tell the person you are married to so they can make an informed decision about their life.
Every lying cheating scumbag on that site deserves to be outed for the fucking coward cake eating mother-fucker they are.
A few extra notes...
1. Based on a lawsuit brought on years ago by a former employee...many of the women profiles are fake. AM pays employees to generate fake profiles and 'fish' men....essentially 'chatting with them' when their credits run low so they will pay more. The electronic equivalent of a blow up doll. So while there are many real women on there, my guess is they will discover many of the profiles originated from AM itself.
2. AM does provide the option of sending payment in the form of a Money Order. So some cheaters may not have a CC record. My guess is that most will (because in addition to being cowardly scumbags most are lazy too!)
3. Yeah, I have a fake email account and a free fake profile/name with a mid-waste (no face) photo of someone I pulled off the internet. And I don't give a shit who knows. In fact, I've kept the account and still check it semi-regularly so I can make a note of who the scumbags are in my area (because who wants to enter the dating pool without knowing that?!?).
4. My guess is that they can't legally delete it. They are a real company and there are real regulations regarding data accessibility for the government and law enforcement. The only way a normal person can get access though, is through spending thousands of dollars and filing a public lawsuit which risks internet shaming with a low probability of success. I love that the Hackers are pissed about the false business practices too. No, nobody is going to sue them to get their $15 back, but hopefully if some of the cheaters get outed and have their personal lives crushed in divorce settlements some of them will sue and hit AM where it counts...in the wallet.
5. My only concern is that this information will end up as a 'needle in the haystack'. Either only available on the dark web where cheaters are quietly blackmailed or in a long list with fake profiles created by Betrayed Spouses and AM employees. Difficult to search or really net out anything of value.
6. *Feature Request.... I would love to see this information end up in an Easy to Search online website. Search by name, provide all of the photos, details of communication. Hell, get creative and use a geoip lookup on the device ID and toss it on a searchable map! If I can search in a 20 mile radius for someone to Fuck & cheat with, I should be able to search in a 20 mile radius for avoiding these POSs.
7. In the hope that one of those Hackers belongs to this site or has someone they care about who belongs to this site....Bless you, and thank you and please continue with this and see it through.

Just reported...some info has been released to support their hacker claims. Supposedly the hacker is a disgruntled customer who paid for info to be erased and found out they were not obliging. The company is now offering free deletions.
I did not realize AM also operates a cougar site and a site for wealthy, established men to find a sugar baby.
