Thank you Shehawk. I’m piling on the self care this week. Really going to take it easy before we’re back to the school routine next week.

It’s been a month already since the fateful money conversation. I didn't reply to the ‘I knew you would let me down’ text and he has not reached out since. Guess he really did just want to use me. Bullet dodged but wow how he managed to keep that up for 2 years.

My XWH kept his mask up for at least 4-6 years. It can be devastating.

You didn't let him down, you were smart enough to not take the bait. He's a dumbass.

"My XWH kept his mask up for at least 4-6 years. It can be devastating."

I have personally decided to focus on what people show me and act accordingly.

Some of these moments are shocking. I think it can be hard to wrap one’s empathetic mind around the shock when we see who someone actually is.

I remember that someone mentioned their ex unsafe spouse deliberately spraying a neighbor’s flowers with weed killer because they did not like the plants and gas lighting about the entire event.

That said there are good people out there. I have "met" people in this group who are loyal, empathetic, trustworthy, diligent etc

I wish you peace and healing.

Thank you. Sad that there are people that can do such things. But given that I have been through infidelity, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised.

I have a ‘date’ coming up this weekend. Someone I met a couple of times, then things tailed off. He wants to catch up and see how things are. Nice to be wanted, but I’m struggling to muster up the enthusiasm. I miss the butterflies.
