The riding in the back of the pick up truck....
When I was about 8, my brother and I rode like that. From the Eastern border of our state (Where we lived), to the state on the Western border of our state. And, back home again.
It was about 10 hours of bouncing around, and getting totally wind whipped.
The options were to sit with our backs to the cab. Trying to block the wind. Or lay down on the hard, metal floor of the truck bed. Which was painful.
I think our parents were worried it was too dangerous for all of us to ride in the cab together, on the one bench seat. Or that it was illegal. So, just throw the kids out into the elements, going 60 miles an hour. LOL
