I have a relative in her sixties that is having trouble with incontinence due to a medical problem. She has little to no control. She has tried using the pads but said they all leaked.
Does anybody have a suggestion for what product would be the best for her to use. Depends pull-ups?
She also has difficulty with her coordination so the easier to get on and off the better.
Thank you!!

If she is homebound and has limited mobility and no issues w/ costs, I would encourage her to get a purewick (cooter canoe) it is a suction system that goes between the legs and absorbs and sucks away the urine. If not then depend style pull ups seem to be the most preferred, and you can get store brand at a lower cost.

Yes, she is mostly homebound and definitely has limited mobility.
I never heard of that. I will check it out. Cost should absolutely not be a problem but sometimes her H makes it one.
Thank you so much for the suggestion!!!

If finances aren't a problem then definitely get one at least for sleep. It keeps you dry, so no skin issues.
They are a wonderful invention.

I recommend pull ups and if those are still not absorbing enough then adding a pad to it. Also staying on a toileting schedule is helpful. For example, making sure she goes into the bathroom every 1-2 hours whether she feels the need to void or not. The body is amazing at adapting. Also being on a schedule will help maintain skin integrity and decrease risk of falls related to urgency.
The Purewick is great but I only recommend using it at night. Using it during the day limits mobility and if she already has issues with coordination, the less she moves the worse off she will be.
If you keep asking people to give you the benefit of the doubt, they will eventually start to doubt your benefit.

Dang it, teacher!!! They took all my answers!!!
I will say, the name brand Depends undergarment for women is definitely worth the extra cost. They fit much better and aren’t as bulky as some of the others. This is a situation where you definitely get what you pay for.
And the purewick should be considered the best medical device in the last hundred years. Of course insurance companies don’t want to cover it because it just helps women, ya know?
