Is everyone handling the latest of Mother Nature's hissy fits alright???

These winds are crazy!

WH made it to work. Many people who live in town said they tried to make it out of town but either turned around to come home or were posting to the community forum from a Ditch. WH said he wanted to come back home but couldn't see to turn around. People had just parked at the side of the road with four ways on to wait it out.

50-70 vehicle pileup on the 400.

Many roads and highways have been closed.

Many businesses decided to close.

Buses obviously not running today and I'm thankful for that. Even now the winds kick up and the road disappears from view.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Check in if you can

I'm fortunate that I was offered a 4 day week before Christmas, so instead of having Friday off this week I stayed home today. Nasty out our way, open areas are whiteout conditions with multiple highway closures due to zero visibility and multiple car accidents. Be safe out there

Roads closed all around my area. Couldn't get far if I wanted to. Snowplows still operating locally but a bit further away they have been pulled off the roads. Small drift on lawn morphed into huge drift overnight and today; can't see over it. Some snow accumulation but mostly arranged by the wind. Thankfully power has remained on. Probably because we were prepared for an outage!

Currently snow has stopped and wind not as strong so hopefully will be better driving conditions for end of workday for those who got to their destination.

Glad you guys are ok.

WH is home now. Said the drive home was much better than drive in but still sucked.

I had to use the blower on the end of the driveway and went over it eight times since the wind would blow snow over it again. OMG!!! Drifts as high as my knees. Drifts out back to the barn were over my hips. I was wading through the snow.

Have you seen the photos of the 400? Wow what a mess! More crashes around us and OPP have out out a statement to stay off the roads.

Glad DH safely home. Falling snow still stopped but wind still howling, think it's picked up again.

I've looked at the accident pics and videos. That area often bad for blowing snow/poor visibility. We were in one of those pile ups - a little further north - four years ago and our car was totalled. Going slow but when you hit the brakes when you see the car in front hitting theirs and the guy behind slams into you is quite an impact.

Took forever to "process" us, we had handicap sticker and DH had to walk with a cane on the freeway to OPP car to give his info. Very nasty.

But, several nice other drivers/passengers came to help - even though nothing they could really help with - so not all bad.

The tow truck companies capitalize on this and it becomes a major insurance battle. Has forever changed our winter driving necessity (we were trying to get to work, didn't). Our snow tires and winter rims were 3 months old but didn't factor into car payout sadly. Also, good reason to drive with gas tank on full. Undamaged cars caught in that for hours and need heat.

Really looking forward to spring.

Years and years ago I drove a friend from Peterborough to Oshawa on the 115. Major snowstorm. Vehicles in the ditches on both sides. It was white knuckle drive for sure.

That highway was closed down in areas today due to accidents. My brother takes that route so I'm waiting to hear if he's made it home yet.

These winds have been just shocking.

so i'm guessing this would be the time for some "blow job" jokes???

Hahaha. No! At least the wind picked ONE direction. Usually I get out there with the blower and have it set to shoot they way of the wind and it suddenly changes and I get covered...

Sorry! It’s sassylee reporting in!

I’m in the banana belt portion of Ontario. Lotsa wind but no snow, so just alarmed at the sounds of nature while I tried to sleep! Gusty while driving but with dry roads, no effect really.

Omg sassy I had a mini heart attack when I saw an email notification from Si staff lmao

We have the old TV antenna still up and all last night it banged. Thought for sure it was going to come down. Luckily it didn't. But it made for a difficult sleep. Also the roof on the horse shelter is all metal sheets and one is loose. It banged all night too. Things seemed to have settled down now however OPP have still said to stay off roads of you can up here as conditions could still be rough over night.

Holy crap, Totally scary on the 400. Those photos are unbelievable. Fortunate and amazing that no one was seriously hurt. Some of the vehicles were seriously damaged.

The winds last night were wild. Not far off hurricane level.

Leafs just scored.

Life is good.

Another big accident on the 115 and more road closures due to accidents all around me. Guess people think that since they can see clearly they don't have to be bloody careful. Grrr. Slow down!

At least the buses were running. I could use a drink, smoke and a nap after the craziness of this morning.

The winds were howling all the way down here in Wisconsin on Sunday. 65 mph. 131 car pileup north of me. I was really glad I didn’t need to go anywhere.

We're good here today. Snowmobilers out, icehuts busy. Normal winter day. But I'm counting down days until spring. Then we can complain about yard cleanup resulting from yesterday's high winds.

I’m in eastern ontario and we got wind but nothing like southern ontario. But between the ridiculous amount f snow, the freeze , thaw, and the freezing rain this past weekend, walking is close to impossible on the sidewalks and most roads in the suburbs are ice rinks. I think we’re all tired of winter thanks. The weather network says two, three more weeks and a quick transition to spring. Please, please be right!!

Xswimmer. 131 pileup omg! That's awful!

The winds were something else. We had some broken branches but our trees stayed up.

Our driveway is an ice rink with a thin layer of the fluffy snow, so no traction at all.

I think everyone I know is counting the days until spring. I know I am
