My mircowave needs to be replaced. I am torn between a regular mircowave and a 4 in 1. The 4 in 1 sounds nifty with, mirco, airfryer, convection and broiler.

Advice?

..cost comparison?

..warranty comparison?

..color selection?

..simplicity or do you love gadgets?

..interior space comparison?

..are there any 'on line' product reviews for the nifty ones.

my advice: keep it simple.

Do you use an air fryer now? I have a convection oven and don’t find it really speeds things up that much. And I like my air fryer, but for just me I don’t use it that much.

Now broiler is interesting to me (and usually that is more toaster oven not microwave).

Does the 4-in-1 restrict what dishes can do in there?

I think it some down to what you cook/reheat. It might be great for reheating things and if that is a thing you do a lot...

Good luck! (And def check the inside space. I had one that my dinner plates didn’t fit in and it was so annoying).

Good thoughts. Personally, my husband and self don’t airfry. I hate frying period, I have to shower after. Occasionally, he has coconut shrimp. My Daughter and her fiancé airfry, use a toaster oven. I thought of the 4 in 1 to get rid of the toaster oven and the airfryer. I do make sheet pan meals.

My husband and I started completely eating plant based. I had still eaten dairy and ovo. I am truly just trying to eliminate the number of appliances I have.

All multifunction devices consist of compromises. IOW you don't get a great, or even decent, microwave, toaster oven, air fryer, or broiler. Instead you'll get some mix of adequate , better, or crap of each feature. Sometimes it really is better to have the separate single purpose devices. Another side effect of the MF device is that you can only use one feature at a time. That is instead of being able to bake, air fry, and microwave simultaneously when needed to make a meal, you will have to use each feature individually and stagger the cooking.

None of that rules out the 4in1 but should be considered in the decision making process.

I'm wondering about the cleaning requirements. Do you have to clean oily residue out of your microwave every time you air fry? That sounds like more of a PITA than cleaning the fryer basket.

One of the reasons I love my old Speed Queen top loading washer is that every front loader I've ever owned was high maintenance.

After reading everything, about multi use appliances. I price checked, warranty etc. I ordered a single use one.
