He texted last night when he would be here for the last of his stuff: a dirt bike and trailer to transport dirt bike.
Fine. I made plans for Teslet, Lie-Lie and myself. And being the good student of SI that I am, when I left, I turned off my phone Had a lovely afternoon/evening. We are in the car heading home, turn my phone on and see that ex-shat left a text a few hours before asking me to leave the hitch from the garage outside. Um...well, I'm pretty sure there is no hitch in there. Been cleaning the damn thing out since February, and I don't recall ever coming across one. Whatever, right? His problem. My bro calls up and says that ex-shat was knocking on the door asking to be let in the garage to get this mythical hitch. Bro says, Sorry, I can't let you in because it's locked up. (I took all keys and garage door openers). So he gets pissed and leaves....obviously without his stuff.
Okay, maybe I shouldn't have done this (no 2X4s, please) but I did text to say "Just got your text, sorry, but there is no hitch in the garage."
This is what I got back:
"Nevermind, I'll be back with the police. I have been assured that the way you went about this is complete bullshit and now I'll just have my lawyer deal with it...I am allowed to get in the home and garage to collect my stuff....I'm done trying to be nice to you."
And then my response:
"There is no hitch in the garage. I okayed this plan with the county sheriff's dept. I'm more than happy to call them and have them meet you at the house and you can check for yourself. Perhaps I just didn't know what it looked like."
He came back, having bought whatever he needed and removed the last two items. (minus police, interestingly enough)
I guess he just had to get the little mantrum out of his system? It must suck having your old life completely and unequivocally cut off from you. Every item that fool requested in the decree was placed outside. They were a table saw, his files (in rubbermaid containers), a china cabinet, the contents of the china cabinet, dirt bike and trailer for dirt bike. Sorry, buddy. No need to go through the house for any of that.
I'm glad this is over. (He's not going to bother his lawyer about this, he can't afford it) I'm glad that I did it this way. I don't know why he thinks he can throw his word-shat at me...I've always seen through it. He has a loud bark but that's it.
And yeah, I'm so much smarter than him now. That must suck for him on some level to see that I'm almost always one step ahead of him.
Please, everyone, have a beer or glass of wine with me this evening. I love knowing that everything on this property is now mine.

I am glad to hear that his stuff is now gone.
The last couple of days sound as if they were pretty hard on you.
You have handled yourself impeccably throughout this process, even when it has to have been killing you to do so.
And, btw....your bro ROCKS!!!

Well, he didn't list a hitch, so technically, even IF it was in there, you didn't have to give it to him anyway then!

Well, if you had any doubts lingering from a week ago about having the cops there when he came, I would suspect they're dissipated by now.
I'm glad everything went so well, despite his whining.

Too bad he didn't bring the cops- it would've been great to have him march up with them and you explain that he forced your hand to do it this way when he *broke into your house* and *stole your son's dog*.
