I was thinking this too as I read:

One thing to keep in mind and prepare yourself for. There may come a day in the not too distant future where she sees that what she left for isn’t all sunshine and rainbows and tries to come crawling back.

Time sometimes hardens us, but it also softens sometimes - so be careful to remember how you feel now and who you are dealing with.

You are the only person you are guaranteed to spend the rest of your life with. Act accordingly.

Thank you all for the kind words and great advice . She definitely has mental issues. Hoarding in my understanding is part of OCD . She has been on a lot of meds over the years and never went to counseling except after Dday . I feel really good right now , well rested and I have more energy than I’ve had in years.

There is nothing she can say or do that would suck me back in her world. The way she left erased any doubt in my mind about who she truly is. I deserve much better . I can manage on my own just fine. It’s so easy to do without living in such craziness.

Well, learning much of the story is healing and reassuring to me at the same time. Today her checking account statement came in the mail. It turned out someone gave her 4K to deposit into her checking account late last month. That explains how she was able to finance this crap. I also found a notepad with her" to do " list in getting ready to move. On the other page was an address in Wisconsin . A person ( male) who went to her hs and who was one of her FB friends according to my mom , who is friends on FB as well.

Oh well, all I can hope at this point is a favorable agreement on the business part of a failed relationship. Someone mentioned about playing "boyfriend roulette". That seems to be her MO and who she really is. Now I have peace. I was never going to compete with her FB "friend" anyways.

You have to be tempted, just a little bit - to send a sympathy card to the new guy at that address. laugh But nah .. not worth it. Let him experience it for himself.

Hoping for positive things for you in the days to come. And so glad you have your fur buddy to keep you company. Most of us here relied on our fur babies to help get us through.

Thanks both of you. The sympathy card would be a great touch. I might do that after the divorce is final. At this point I just want to get this woman out of my life as quickly as possible. As far as the OM, he is divorced , so nothing to do there. Right now , I’m going thru the house and reorganizing it , then get my ducks in a row to see a lawyer.
