Just a vent I guess...

I was very excited for Christmas this year. Still am I guess. But suddenly I am very stressed out.

We have an storm system approaching for the end of the week. That means travel isn't advised for Friday and the weekend. I'm ok with the weekend but now I have to do the grocery shopping early and that's thrown my OCD ass off schedule. We already got a huge dumping of snow yesterday and of course the auger belt on the snow blower broke so guess who shovelled...wh then did a big sweep with the tractor when he got home.

I had made very detailed lists of all the gifts for the kids.

I wanted to make sure they all had the same or close to the same number of gifts to open. I was short for Big D. So I ordered a few things off Amazon that I couldn't find anywhere.

Then wh went out shopping for me. Yes! He actually went out to buy me a gift. He did that for my birthday as well. First time in years...this is a man who hates crowds and can't stand to see the totals of bills/receipts.

Anyways, while out he picked up a ton of stuff for Big D. Some of it I had on my list to get this week, a Sonic the Hedgehog comforter and blanket, but then wh went crazy getting him the huge dinosaur toys. Ya know the ones that roar none stop and are a bitch to wrap lol

Now it's DS who is short on the list. Of course I got him the largest of all the gifts. The massive lego set he wanted. I also got him two smaller lego sets and two stuffys he wanted. Besides socks and underwear and their stockings I have no idea what else to get him. Maybe a star wars bed set? Ugh.

Once he opens the large lego set I'm 100% positive he will be off putting that together for the rest of the day.

I know it shouldn't be about the gifts but this is really the first time in so long we have been able to get the kids exactly what they asked Santa for.

I got almost everything wrapped yesterday. That felt good. The extra tubes and house for the hamster cage took me 30+ minutes to assemble. I am picking up the fur ball today and have to hide it. OMG! I am so glad they don't make noise!

I have three lists in front of me. Grocery, stockings list and last minute stuff. Oh and the gifts list of which ones are wrapped, which ones need to be and which are still to be picked up.

And I have the same lists typed out on my phone. I'm a list freak. Without them I'd most likely forget what I need to do/pick up, but staring at them I'm just like OMG how am I going to get this all done lol

And I'm still dealing with dd and all that shit. School called to let me know she skipped class. She's not eating alot again and is just constantly worried about running into exbf (who hasn't been to school since the incident). Three more days then she's off for two weeks. I'm hoping that helps!

Wow! Hang in there Drgn!

How the hell DO you hide a hamster??? laugh

I still have to wrap stuff. And I don't remember where everything is, since I hid it so well laugh .

Good luck on all your final Christmas shopping. I HATE the parking lots this time of year- too many people walking in and out, too many aggressive drivers and too many old folks poking around and taking 5 tries to get in/out of a spot. Seriously, I try and park out in the back of the lot as it's just easier not to have to deal with it. I've got legs. I can walk.

I'm glad DD has only 3 more days until she can forget things a bit. Can she do online school until then?

WW/BW Dday July 2019. BH/WH- multiple EA's. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

If you wrap the hamster don't forget to put air holes in wink

You sound very organised - I like your list making! I hope you have a lovely Christmas and DD gets a bit of inner peace once school's out. x

When I was in 4th grade, I remember my mom calling me into her bedroom it was probably April. She found a book she had bought me for Christmas that she hid too well. Such a great memory.

Oh man town was crazy. And ya ended up parking way out as far back as I could just to find a parking spot.

No worries the hamster is in its cage beside my side of the bed. The spare cage and toy hamster will be wrapped and given to her first lol

I have to count how many chocolate eggs we hide at Easter to avoid finding eggs months later lol

I have most of the presents wrapped and in my closet. I did buy dd a huge block of origami paper months ago that's in my "craft bag" hanging off my chair in the kitchen. It's the extras bag for kids school supplies. I had to really think where I had put it lol

I got all the stuff for their stockings including new stockings. We are missing a box of Christmas stuff including most of our stockings besides the one massive one. So the kids picked which stockings they wanted (each one was different). I also got the cat and dog their own lol.

Dd had a rough day at school. Two more days! She can't do online. I had to chose one or the other for the kids back before school started.

Hang in there.
If it makes you feel any better I have purchased zero presents.

Now granted the grown up kids don't really get presents but I still need stocking stuff for Friday night and decisions about family trip need to be made to share with kids. We have started doing family trips for Xmas for our kids their significant others and my MIL.

But I need to buy gifts for other family and be ready to share on Saturday. Work is nuts and the same storm is blowing through on Thursday with snow and sub zero temps. So I think a trip to the store with lots of gift cards is going to be the plan. Plus stocking stuff.
