Hi

I need some advice on Christian dating sites. I tried to get on Christian mingle. It says it's free to sign up. But I couldn't access much. And the men were from really far away! Not interested.

Are there any Christian dating sights anyone would recommend? I'm currently on Match and Zoosk, and so I do find some there.

Please be careful. It means nothing that the label of the site says "Christian". Lots of predators prowl these sites looking for vulnerable people to exploit. Shields up and use your normal precautions to stay safe.

THanks Chrysalis. Yes, I will. For sure:)

I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations and if their were other sites besides Christian Mingle as I found it to be weird so far...only one match. But having said that, I haven't signed up for it so maybe they don't give you people in your area until you are signed up. Not sure.

Was curious as to others experiences.

Not familiar with OLD sites, but I know my local Christian church has groups that meet periodically. Bible studies, women's groups, men's groups, and there's even a singles group. I would inquire at Church if common beliefs are very important to you in your dating life. Good luck!

Hi Who The Bleep.

Yes, I have gone to one church function so far specifically for singles. Lots of ladies hardly any men. And none for me.

Thanks though:)

@GraceLove I haven't been on a dating site in 20 years but I was considering going on a paid site and specifying Christian with big bold capital "JESUS" in my profile I've been unequally yoked for 18 years and I get why you're not supposed to do that!

I have tried Christian dating sites and non-Christian dating sites. I found that the same men in my area were on both. I made sure I put exactly what I was looking for in my profile. There are a lot of weeds out there but my Christian SO found me on a non-Christian site and I am very happy at the moment

I don't know much about any dating sites. I have looked at them as much as one can without registering.

I did register on Christian Mingle when I shouldn't have just to take a look. I'm not yet D. I had a couple of hits immediately and contacted Christian Mingle to take me down which they did.

There was one site purporting themselves to be Christian I looked at. The first information with each member was what their zodiac sign was.

Once I'm divorced I will probably register on a site. My IC also said that I could consider Christian cruises or tours. It's mostly women that go on them (like your church function, GraceLove). That might be good for an old man, like myself but not so great for Christian ladies.

I'm concerned about what Chrysalis123 writes, too. It is a concern. My IC recommended a book to me called "Attached. The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find - and Keep - Love" by Levine and Heller. (My IC is a born again Christian.) It describes behaviours of different attachment styles and could help sort the wheat from the chaff.

I'll be watching this thread with interest.

HAha...I almost laughed out loud! Me too...totally get it now. I myself, was sleeping with satan. Lovely contrast at night ...light and dark.

It's so true. I actually had just gone on a couple of dates with an awesome guy who believed in God but just wasn't where I'm at. He ticked so many boxes in terms of what I wanted, but not that one. I had a really good convo with him last night and said I won't be pursuing this further. It saddened him as we did have a really good connection. BUT I know long term, I can't do that anymore.

CharliB

Great to hear! I am being very specific in my profile and it's been awesome as it quickly gets rid of the ones who aren't the one.

Steadychevy

My IC recommended a book to me called "Attached. The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find - and Keep - Love" by Levine and Heller.

Maybe this is a sign...I have had a few other people tell me about this book. Looks like it's something I need to read. I know my attachment style before was insecure and needy. I'm feeling like I'm going more to the middle ground with secure but who knows what happens when I actually get involved again.

I tried Christian Mingle but hadn't signed up. It was awful. People from other parts of the world and just not my types, at all.

I don't think I'll sign up with them. I think I'll just stay on the non-Christian ones and be super specific to the point where I scare off the ones that are not into it. haha

The book isn't Christian, GraceLove, but I found it very informative.

I live fairly remote. I drive 60 km to go to church. I think the dating pool for a born again Christian man is pretty shallow, too. I'm going to be pretty rigid about what my requirements are. That might mean single for the rest of my natural life. I'd rather be single, though, than make another mistake.
