Any must sees? We will have kids with us. We are history buffs so we will like pretty much everything.

Dobbin House Tavern is a B&B which also has a restaurant. The building is from the 1860's and the decor matches. We didn't rent a room there but had dinner in their restaurant. It was outstanding and I highly recommend it. It is within walking distance of all the local shops as well as the ghost tours.

There are multiple horseback riding stables that will take you right out to the battlefields and give you an informative tour. We loved it and were lucky to have a spectacular day weather wise when we went. I'm not sure which one we used as it was 2 years ago. But they are all listed with reviews. I think we went to Hickory Farms.

Check out the battlefields and the museum. If your family loves history they will enjoy these as well.

Have a great time. I love Gettysburg, been there twice and would go again.

We went several years ago for a reenactment. It was very impressive.

The museum in the visitor's center is a good one. Also, try to catch the Cyclorama show time while you are there. It's always interesting. There is also a tour guide who will ride around in your car with you and point out where things happened. I think you can find out more about this at the visitor's center.

The spot where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address is in the cemetery. I was just there a month ago and took several pictures for my 3rd graders to see the spot.

It is one of the best battlefield I have visited.

When one door closes, another door opens. It's the journey through the hallway that sucks.

I have always been fascinated by Gettysburg and finally made the trip from Australia in May 2018, we stayed at the Lightner Farmhouse B & B which had been used as a Federal Hospital following the Battle. We found private tour guides for the Battlefield and Gettysburg township and they were fantastic and not expensive, we also went on a ghost tour, and somehow we seemed to end up at Mr G’s ice cream shop in Baltimore St. quite a lot too

As you have children with you I won’t mention the Mason Dixon Distillery......but its got great cocktails and food!
