Theorizing alert, (and spoilers if you missed the last episode.)

Do you believe Ned Stark was ever a WH? I don't. I think he raised and protected his nephew by hiding his true parentage...

The end scene was logical if brutal, but the Red lady abandoned Stanis and returned to Castle Black...can she raise the dead? Cause that's a whole lot of kings blood on the ground if I'm right...

Take2,

This sort of idea is exactly why I can't see myself giving up on the show. I've always believed there was a lot more to Jon's lineage, and there's been a LOT of foreshadowing that he was going to be really important in the battle to come. So, I don't see how he can really be gone. Then I remember that I felt the same way about Ned, and Robb, and Tywin Lannister.

Also, I miss the Hound. Is he REALLY dead? No, don't tell me... But I hope not because I miss him.

This has been so very interesting. I devoured the books, and there have been a lot of things that are different, and with this season, some things that were left up in the air in the books were answered.....

The most interesting thing was that the author was working with the screenplay, so what so many fans would feel is "canon" is not...

Like Tyrion was on his way to meet Dany in the books, but met her in the series. This was soooo exciting to me.

There are a lot of deviations from the books, and I do understand about the change from one media to the other (the books were getting so complicated with characters and side stories)

But Jon Snow?

There are a lot of theories about this that I have read. Some theories have suggested that the Red Witch, realizing that Stannis is not the "savior" has returned to Castle Black in time because she has already resurrected someone and will do the same with Jon Snow.

Some theories have said that Jon Snow has a relationship with his Direwolf like Bran, and will be able to transport his "spirit" to it and still live......

Some theories have even gone so far as to suggest that Jon Snow was not Ned Starks's biological son, but perhaps a Targareon (sp?) and was protected.....

Jon Snow's character was built up as very important this season...not only was he elected head of Castle Black.., but the White Walkers seemed to be impressed with him. He holds the Valyrian Steel Sword that was able to kill white walkers in addition to the obsidian glass.,

This season was brutal. Very brutal. Stannis' decision to sacrifice his daughter was especially hard to watch. Although Cersei is such a bitch, it was still hard to watch her "walk of shame". (Ironically, as an SI member I kept thinking "the Karma bus has arrived"! but still....)

For me, the most interesting thing about the books and the series, is that no character is black and white good or bad. There is a lot of good in "evil" characters, and bad in good characters.

It's realistic in that way.

We all have our favorites.

I know, that many people really love Jon Snow, as do I. He is not perfect, but is a hero who has the best intentions, as did Ned Stark.

I LOVE Tyrion. Good and bad there

I LOVE Dany, she is so idealistic, but not perfect.

Perhaps we get upset because like real life, things happen in this series (and the books) that is not fair..

and that is what keeps us hooked.

NaiveAgain posted 6/20/2015 16:29 PM

I was really upset with the sacrifice.
Out of all the brutality in this series...that was the most difficult for me. Was he really "bewitched" or do you think his lust for power was so strong he was willing to do anything?

I don't think Snow is gone for good. I think he has special blood and something will happen to bring him back.

And I miss the Hound too. He was one of my favorites. It seems to me his character was just starting to evolve and get a bit deeper when they got rid of him.

Do I really have to wait another year to find out what happens next?

Oh MAN it is so hard to get all the way to this page without reading everything!

Well, I'm six episodes in and completely obsessed. You know, every time I saw the Amazon deal of the day was Game of Thrones I KNEW I should just buy but then got distracted.

Xfinity did a Freeview and we got 6 in before they took it away.

Do I suck it up and get HBO for one show? Buy the DVD's?

These are rhetorical questions because I can't read in here until I catch up... which could take a while unless I buy the series and go Portlandia on the lot of them.

I have a favor to ask all of you - if you see the Deal of the Day switch to GoT will someone tell me? Thanks.

So glad you're up to date now.

Yeah, but now Crazz and I have no idea what to do after we put V to bed.

They have started filming Season 6!!!!!
I have been reading the books during the summer. A little different than the show. Especially Book #5. I love this show!!!!!

Lovingmyselfmore posted 10/17/2015 20:24 PM

After one year of dday I am moving to this forum. Starting to feel lighter and this is so fun!

BallofPain posted 10/22/2015 04:28 AM

Man, I wonder what house I'm going to get on this thread!

I totally love this show.

Ok, is it bad the character I can't help rooting for is Ser Jorah? He is so committed to Danaerys and I can't help but cheer him on.

Now, I do have to ask, are the Baratheons officially dead? Will Gendry come back?

I find I cannot read the first book at least. One very boring night shift, I picked up the book and tried to read it. The already slow night turned even slower as I read.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Chaos is a ladder, Y'all.

I'm jonesing so bad. I desperately want to know what happened to Jon and Arya. Then sometimes I think I won't be able to deal with what happened to them, and I'm glad it's not out yet. Back and forth, this goes.

I think this show is going to ultimately be the thing that breaks my sanity.

Skibunny posted 4/8/2016 06:54 AM

Season 6 will be here so soon!

I need to remember to set my TV to record it - being in the UK means it's on at about 2 am.
