Hi everyone, does anyone know much about website data on iPhone's?

In setting on the iPhone you can select safari - advanced- website data. Which provides a list of websites data/sites visited on the device.

Does anyone know what it means if there is a website with zero bytes of data used?

For example Pinterest with 0 bytes. Could this mean the app has been accessed not the website?

Thanks in advance, I have tried to research this but can't find much info on the topic.

hi onthejourney, I looked at my own iphone to see. I personally browse in private mode, for no reason other than to avoid cookies. anyway, I saw 6 sites only on my website data. yahoo.com with 0.9 kb, walgreens.com with 0.4 kb, twitter.com 86 bytes, micpn.com (I don't even know what this is) 82 bytes, facebook.com 82 bytes and zedge.net (don't know what this one is either) with zero bytes.

im not sure if this helps, but at least you know maybe this isn't very accurate.

(( hugs ))

Hi, I have been doing a lot of my own investigating on this. I was going to come on here today to ask another question and will try to help with this. It appears that when you use Safari in regular mode, the web data shows up on top and then as well all of the ones listed with little or no bytes used, I'm thinking that those are cookies running in behind the site you are on. We all know that when you visit a web site that there are things that try to grab your browsing habits etc behind the scenes. So you will see the sites with the larger bytes used first that you have searched, and then they will trickle down to the ones with little usage. I'm going to post a new topic about Battery usage cause I think that can be used to find things out too. Hope this helped.
