Hi all, it’s been months. I’m happy to report that things have been generally good as I set up shop in my new life, and it has been far more positive than I could have imagined back in Spring/Summer.

Recently, something happened which I would have thought could totally derail my state of mind. One of the several “other women” recently lurked onto my social media and “liked” one of my photos. I recognized her username immediately. Rather than feeling the familiar burning pain at the back of my neck or overwhelming nausea (sensations I’d gotten too used to over the years whenever something was off)...instead I felt almost nothing at all, swiftly blocked her, and then continued doing whatever I was up to. Buh-bye! I had even forgotten all about it until tonight, weeks later! What a relief to know that the power those people held over my well-being is starting to fade away.

Anyway, I wanted to update that things are progressing! Still LOTS of self work to do (no illusions about that ), but that little moment showed me how much growth has already taken place.

I’m curious about other people’s experiences. What unexpected things (big or small) have shown you have been well on the way to healing?

I had a very similar incident happen where someone (I believe this is the umteenth OW) laughed at my Facebook post I made of my daughter's cupcakes and I messaged her if I knew her because she's not on my friends' list. Then I texted her FB profile to my STBX and said she looks like the last one. Lo and behold the laugh reaction is now gone from my post and her FB profile has gone missing. Silly OW

My XWH called me at work the other day and I didn't recognize his voice at first. After a long pause when he didn't identify himself I said "oh!"

This was a long time ago - about 3 months after the papers signed, final exchange, etc.

I had shut off his original cell phone somewhere in the process and expected he had gotten a new ho-mmunicator. I remember this so clearly because it still makes me laugh.

Me: Who is this?

Me: Oh good - thanks for letting me know your new number so I can block it as well. My give a fuck is still broken.

Such a joke. What huge drama junkies they are. I love these little tests - sort of a just-checkin' thing the universe throws your way. It's actually very empowering, no? To see how far you've come and how little you give a shit about that crap?

Good goin' on your New Beginnings SMC!

Drama junkies, indeed! that’s the perfect way to describe that type of behavior.

Thank you for sharing!

Funny I know for a fact COW (only OW - LTA EA/PA) liked a christmas photo of our whole family post dday - I left it there for all to see ... I gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe her big fat thumb hit the like button as she was scrolling through on her phone but yeah - minor blip on the radar.
